does this make me racist or just experienced in customer service?

You'd be surprised. I've spent many years working in five star restaurants where the motherfuckers actually had a tab. They ran debt.

I'm not the one who's force feeding race.

It's the ghetto ass black people who want to stand out for the mere fact that they're black.

Hell, it's kinda hard to avoid when they keep on calling each other "******", mock and avoid white people, and act out black stereotypes perpetuated by TV.

So I'm guessing white people don't avoid and mock black people. :Angel_anim:

Didn't. I'm talking about people who owed restaurants into the four figures and got complimentary cookies from the kitchen just based on their status. A lot of them would walk into their regular restaurants with no cash whatsoever in hand. Just plastic, which they wouldn't always use.

To be honest, not nearly as actively.

White people don't usually try to stand out with their "whiteness"... maybe a slight few, but those are actually somewhat extreme cases in general.

It seems like black people antagonize white people more than white people antagonize black people socially, especially in my generation.

That's why you force them to tip, which is legal.

People never tip at my resturant (apart from 0.00072% who leave $2, and 0.0000000487 who leave $20)

That's your perspective. I've had lots and lots and lots of examples of white people avoiding me (and I don't play race stereotypes) from crossing sidewalks to locking their car windows on an intersection as I was crossing, to leaving elevators as I entered even. The examples are so many and so frequent it would be easy for me to make generalizations about white people as well.

You're an Aussie. I could make the argument that tips (which is an almost exclusively American phenomenon) is a way to pass the burden of wages on to the consumer in a society where business is more important than individuals. But that leads into another topic altogether. I tip, but I'm against tips. It's just a way to justify restaurants to violate the minimum wage laws.

I think that you're honestly reading way too much into it and that you're simply too conscious of such things because you've probably been a victim of racism as a child or a youth. I'm honestly pretty sure that it's mostly in your head.

You simply live in a shit city where people aren't friendly at all.

    Get a better job.

I don't like the concept of tipping that much either, but I honestly don't think that it's an American phenomenon.

Hell, I've encountered regular tipping practically everywhere.

In some places you HAVE to tip if you ever plan on coming back to that place and getting any service... even if it's a taco stand.

Yes, I look at things extremely objectively, believe it or not. I'm not an emotional person and don't really have any inherent preconceptions. It's very easy for me to make such statements being a foreigner in this country who cannot help but observe the way people here interact.

Yes, that's probably why I can laugh about the things a whole lot of you take close to heart.

...I'll bet you a $100 that I'm also right about you experiencing racism as a child or youth.

That just tells me how clueless you are. Every single person of African descent in any mixed society has experienced and experiences racism in their childhood and adulthood respectively. You're acting like it's a thing of the past. I wrote a thread in this here forum about being stopped by cops for no reason in front of my own building (which I thought was racial profiling since they were not responding to any calls or complaints and were awkwardly apologetic after I showed them proof of my address).
