Half chihuahua/half basset hound. Whole shithead. Haha. But seriously, he's the most hyper little yippy thing. And he pees everywhere. Urgh.
I have 5 dogs. One min pin, 3 min pin chihuahua mutts, and a blue heeler. I love all dogs 'cept for misbehaved dogs.
mah spoiled dog -she is um, half german shepherd... I got her from a freind who SAID her mom was actually a timberwolf(her dad was the neighbors pure bred GS retired k9 unit)- but I am not certain her mom was 100% or what percent. I don't know that they knew. I don't even think it is legal out here to own that high percentage wolf hybrid. We usually tell people she is GS/husky mix...and hell, as far as i know that could be true
i guess because mixed dogs are usually free to a good home in the paper or in shelters or out homeless on the street, whereas you sometimes pay a lot of money for purebreds. i guess also some people, like i mentioned earlier, don't want to support breeding when the world is chock full of needy doggies already.
Exactimundo. This is Angus. He's half English Mastiff and half Labrador Retriever. One hundred and seven pounds of lovey teddy bear. He's afraid of cats and squirrels. And he organizes the back yard by taking everything loose and placing it careful in a pile exactly three big doggy paces from the back door. I have a chickenshit dog with OCD. Yay me.
Angus practically begs to go to work with me. So I took him to Gettysburg to paint a house. He spent three days sitting at the bottom of the ladder keening and whining. I had to turn up the iPod to drown him out. Never again.
My dog is smart. He understands at least 30 words and he does a slew of cute things he know will get my attention. Coby is a 9 year old Brittany Spaniel. He points when he stalks his game, and I've seen him run faster than the flight of a bird. Actually, I have seen him jump into the air and paw down a bird in flight. He's happy, enthusiastic and exceptionally obedient. He doesn't shake when you give him a bath. It's so unatural, but he obeys and trusts me. He was trained to hunt, but never liked the sound of a gun and loud noises for that matter. He'll run up to my bed if he hears a thunderstorm. If I say "get your leash" he'll retrieve it. I can tell him to heel, sit, rollover, stay, and balance treats on his nose and his paws. I can teach him new tricks and commands very easily. I taught him to lay down on his side and kick his paws when I point my finger at him like a gun and say "BANG!" I think I found the best dog. He's so loving and awesome when he snuggles up to me.
Yeah you got a good one. I do too but as much time as I spend in the hills I'd like him to be a little more self-confident.
Well, does he play fetch? My dog doesn't play fetch which is one thing that I wish I had more time to teach him. He likes to run away with something in his mouth. For some reason, that is the only thing that I haven't really felt a big urge to train him for. I taught my dog hand signals too. I like to try and teach him a command, and then a hand signal that means the same thing as the command. That way he knows that he has to focus on me as well as listen to me and then he becomes happier to obey when I'm not barking orders at him. Coby likes to open the pantry door where his treats are. He doesn't get into them, but rather he likes opening them to remind us to give him a treat when we get in.
He loves to fetch. Tennis ball, stick, big solid nylon bone. And he loves to play tug of war with a rope. He's a great dog. But he's not an outdoor dog. He's more of a "I'll be here holding down the fort" dog. I may get another when I get to WV.
We have a stray mutt that joined our family. She came around for days and would not come to us. I went to the movies with a friend and when I came back she had juoined our family. Arianna named her Miss Chievous Love. She looks like a combo of a lab puppy face with a dodson body(or however you spell the hotdog variety)
