Domestic Abuse Goes Through The Roof During Lockdown!

Yes I understand why people don’t seek help. When I was 5 a woman up the street showed up at our door. She was naked in the middle of the night, winter, in the snow. She was black and blue fro: her shoulders other waist. She had finally reached a point to run. She had been tied up in the basement for days. She got out, got out of the ropes. She fled without her kids. My mom called the police, called her parents in B.C. got the kids out. It reaches a point of either run, with no certainties or stay. Ultimately it comes down to fight or flight. Virus or not it is happening and apparently calls are being made. How those calls are dealt with must change. This virus isn’t changing situations, but there is always a phone call to make. It is just a matter of finding strength to fight for yourself.
Cops also have calls on record for domestic violence, Perhaps house calls, wellness checks need to happen.

But she is lucky.
At least she came out of it with her life!

 

I was out shopping one day with my wife we'd sat down in a seating area and a couple began to argue, he looked as though he was going to hit her at one point, then he noticed a rather big bloke sat opposite who appeared to be looking in our direction, "who are you looking at?" yelled the potential wife beater, "him over there" replied the bloke, pointing at me, "oh yeah, why?" he replied, "just wondering if he can run faster than me that's all" the big fella replied, "why do you wanna know that?" replied the bloke, the big fella laughed, "well it looks as though he's gonna belt you if you carry on, and I was just wondering if I could beat him to you, because if you hit her you're gonna get a fucking good hiding". He looked at me and smiled, I just nodded in agreement, the wife beater stormed off, leaving his wife alone on the bench, what an arsehole, I'd have cheerfully belted him if he'd touched her!

I feel so sorry for that Woman when she finally gets home.
By the sounds of it he will beat her, possibly badly, but who will be there to defend her then?
Nobody because the Cops won't be around at all.
They will likely be out and about doling out parking/speeding tickets!

 

That's always the problem, you can only do what you can do, I suppose it's a case of at least that's one slapping she didn't get, it just annoys me though, most of these 'hard men' wouldn't even think about having a go with another bloke, they're just scum.

the reason I put this article here is because it mentions that there is an increase in domestic violence in Russia; who incidentally are having problems with the virus.

There is no doubt about it there is also a worldwide Pandemic of Domestic Abuse were both Men and Women are suffering untold harm and abuse.
Living in that situation must be like living in a Hell On Earth prison, and only a sufferer could give a proper view into that way of not really living some sort of life at all.

Modern day slavery and worse is alive and well and flourishing in this crazy world of ours.

Well it is difficult to say whether or not this Woman was the victim of Domestic Abuse, as she could have been murdered by anyone.
But it wouldn't surprise me.

These incidents dealing with domestic conflict are pretty sad.

In life, you need to know the art of making a living as well as the art of living. Modern education deals with the former and neglects the latter. Qualities like emotional self-regulation, stress management and patience are becoming rarer in human society due to habitual demands for instant pleasure gratification which is wrongly considered to be happiness, breeding impatience and emotional volatility.

I think it is a failure of civil and intellectual leadership to provide proper perspective on human values and how life ought to be conducted.

The conflict and turmoil in the family and the negativity, emotivity and reactivity it generates will reflect in society, national and international levels too, and this is dangerous because emotional instability can result in poor judgement and decision-making leading to serious errors and mistakes.
