Last night or very early this morning I was just thinking "I wonder what's going on with Donovan" I think I stopped listening to him in the early seventies. Where are you now Donovan?
I think hes in Italy at the mo.He was playing Florence a couple of days ago.Loved to have been there.
I've got some old albums in the loft. I'll have to go up and have a rummage. You've got me interested in finding out what's lurking up there along with the D.L. stuff. I've just downloaded a load of Steeley Dan stuff so I could be going into a remember my misspent youth faze
J'adore Donovan. Completely. I simply love his music, and, not gonna lie, he was damn gorgeous. My favourites of his songs are Season of the Witch, Wear Your Love Like Heaven, Cosmic Wheels (I prefer the live version where it's just him and his acoustic guitar), the shorter version of Riki Tiki Tavi (actually... both versions), To Sing For You, Atlantis (!!!), Barabajagal, Celeste, Mellow Yellow, The Observation, Museum, Sunny South Kensington, There Is A Mountain, Superlungs, The Fat Angel... ...Uh... I'm having trouble narrowing it down. I'll stop now.
My favorites are 'Hurdy Gurdy Man', 'Season of the Witch', 'The Enchanted Gypsy', 'Sunshine Superman', 'The Lullaby of Spring', 'Three Kingfishers' and 'Ferris Wheel'. Such great music.
