Not cool, just experienced. Are you experienced? Have you ever been experienced? (sung to jimi's song) Well I have.

I made a lot of stupid choices in my past so I call 'em like I see 'em. No offense to anyone. :cheers2:

    "Not neccessarily stoned but, beautiful".
I'd like to think I am experienced, but of course I have SO MUCH I need to learn and I look very forward to doing so.

Can you give me a more insider view and description of what it's like? Thoughts/Feelings/Hallucinations wise? I've always found that particular mental illness to be interesting. And seeing as your case is drug induced I'm pretty interested in hearing your story, if u wanna share anyway.

    :cheers2:

I've never understood how substances could get in the way of ones life. The things that have held me back in life have been lack of confidence, laziness, cynicism, and nonconstructive depression. Each of these things are within my control, and have never come from recreational drug usage. If you are doing too much drugs or becoming a lazy stoner, I do not believe blame should be placed on the drug, rather on yourself.

My parents smoke weed daily, and both of them work nearly sixty hour work weeks owning their own business. They travel, ski, hike, and grow some of their own vegetables on their five acre ranch. They are buying eleven acres in the middle of nowhere so they can retire in peace. I believe they are still using psychedelics occasionally. They can handle their drugs because they are motivated individuals whom have respect for life and themselves.

One time I was beginning to blame my laziness on marijuana, so I quit it for a while. Behold... Nothing changed, I was still fucking lazy. I thought I was schizo after a bad shrooms trip, but it was really my lack of confidence and social anxiety that was revealed to me during the trip.

I guess I'm just trying to say it is important to work on yourself before you begin to blame things. Recreational drugs are the scapegoat of twenty first century youth. Not everyone can handle them, and if you don't think you can, stop using them until you are more capable.

Have you never had someone close to you who was an alcoholic, heroin addict, or addicted to speed or coke?
If not then of course you don't understand.

How old were your parents when they started smoking weed?
I've noticed and think some studies have shown (have to dig around to find 'em) that the younger a person is when they start smoking pot the more likely to suffer from "amotivational syndrome". Most people I know that started in their early twenty's handle it better than those that started in their early teens (like me):( These are of course generalizations and each person is different.

    epitaph.

I think viewing this is a prerequisite for being schizophrenic

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZEglHjd_gUQ

Personally I believe that Schizophrenia is a favorable trait.

I mean lets look at this list of symptoms here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schizophrenia#Standardized_criteria

Delusions. All this means is, you have highly original thoughts that take alot of diffuculty to explain. The real truth is. Every great idea started out as a delusion. And its important to understand that EVERYONE operates under ILLUSIONS. The only difference between an Illusion and a Delusion is Illusions have movies, theme parks and buildings to back them up.

Hallucinations. This can be a diffucult one to sort out. And how integrate it will be very unique and require much effort on your part. But always keep in mind that many Artists, muscians, painters, writers or otherwise, usually there inspiration comes from what is essentially a hallucinatory function of their mind. Many a musician hear music in their head before they write. Many painters see paintings in their mind before painting them. The ability to hallucinate is nothing more than an additional function of your mind that you can learn to control and utilize just like an arm. It is your third eye opening and closing. It's function can be integrated and become valuable to you.

Disorganized speech. Or in other words. Stream of concioussness. Welcome to poetry and song writing. Just make sure to stop the metaphors and poetry when it's necessary to explain yourself to someone who doesn't like stream of concioussness.

Disorganized behavior. This can be a issue, if your mood is constantly fluctuating all over. This is where meditation, yoga, exercise and discipline becomes important. And also watching your diet. You can bring yourself into a very stable state of mind by just paying very very close attention to how different foods make you feel, and also practicing meditation, calming your mind. And overall just keeping your body really healthy.

Affective flattening. Lets be real on this one. Psychiatrists are lame. Schizophrenics ( or highly artistic types I should say ) are generally cooler. This label is simply because psychiatrists took offense to schizophrenics holding absolutely no interest in anything they do or say cause there so lame. So the schizo would just sit there zoned out, paying no attention. Typical response to dullards. But unfortunately these dullards could respond by diagnosing and druggin you. So they did. This label is pretty much BS

occupational dysfunction. So your job is a piece of shit and your realizing it. This is not a sign of problem at all. It's important to remember that the DSM-IV classifies 'normal' as working a regular 9-5 scheduled job, dilligently, and in control. There goal is to not just make you feel good in your own skin, or comfortable with your life. There goal is to make sure your still a functioning cog in the machine. They place the needs of employment on a higher level of value than the needs of the human spirit.

Th psychiatrists make it sound all terrible and try to scare you of all these natural, innate, aspects of your psyche because... it makes them money. Keep in mind psychiatric diagnoses, psychiatric theories, these are not words birthed from the heart. They are words birthed from the psychiatrists need to survive, need to get laid, need to feed his family. Psyciatrists are more like car-salesmen of mental states than they are true, caring, healers.

But I think schizophrenia is just another word for highly artistic person. Or shamanic person. Schizophrenia is actually nothing to fear or worry about at all. If you choose to, you can integrate all idiosyncracies into yourself, and integrate into the whole of humanity... if you choose to.

What you don't want is paranoid schizophrenia. Thats the bad one. Do not develp a fear of other humans. You must love them, forgive them. Very necessary to be in a state of constant forgiveness towards all the sleeping people who fuck things up. Be patient. Very patient. Be very kind, listen to people, remember that, even though your body may be immensly more aware and concious, you are still just one body, all your thoughts and words transfuse out through one body, through one mouth. And it's not just about your body, but everyones body working in harmony. Speak with no intention other than to balance.

Laughter is the psychotics best friend because in some cases, you either go into a manic rampage, or you go into hysterical laughter. Choose laughter, see the joke in everything.

And lastly. You have to come to terms with how diffucult it's going to be to accomplish what you need to accomplish.

the added creativity and unique perspective might be a cool bonus. but delusions and hallucinations are definitely no fun. yeah, it's fun to trip for six or seven hours on some good shrooms, but you make that trip last a year and a half and you start to get tired of it.

  16. This was an extremely awesome post. Good job, and thank you. I am not schizophrenic but I have a lot of friends I have tripped with in the past who relate to it in ways which I never understood, mostly because I saw things from a more of a realistic natural way opposed to the mentally ill labeling type, so this is helpful
