Theres also many people that make bad propaganda torwards feminists. Example "If your woman becomes a feminist, she will leave her husband, become a lesbian, quit her religion, ect..."

If you've read my sig you might start to understand that I am saying what I see, what I have experienced in life and what I observed. I have worked in batterd women shelters across the country. I have also worked with the Wood County Sheriff's Dept. taking in battered women and children into my home in the past. I am reporting, delivering a message.. I did not write the contents, society did.
When I say 'The Goddess' is back, I'm saying Our Mother has come home. She brings LOVE and Nurturing, Compassion and Balance. The Ying and Yang, one cannot be without the other. The scales were tipped, women were oppressed for centuries. The planetary affects are making changes in the universe and balance is being brought about. This change causes Chaos while gathering energy structuring a new world society. Thus my statement, 'The Times They Are A Changing'. This is the Karmetic Flow of the universe, what you put out will return three fold. This is the way of things that I have no control over, yet I get stone for stating the FACTS of Nature. What I have said are just Facts, because I lived them does not make it fact in itself but on a statistical level from data gathered from different research groups.
What you see or I should say is what you don't see,is the kindness in my heart and love that comes with the statments I make or message I deliver. You cannot see the tears in my eyes as I type these things as it pulls my heart around.

I am not a feminist, I'm not a religious fanatic, nor do I hate men. The QUESTION was why women hit men and everyone thinks it funny, no abuse is funny. I would never advise any women to hit a man with fist or anyother object unless she was deffending herself or her children. Hitting is negitive behavior no matter what gender is doing the hitting.
Now pick that apart and throw it back at me. I will stand tall. I will defend my right to freedom of belief.

It's the society issue you're talking about. You see, all our past was a prison to women.
They have all been pushed to work in kitchens and raise the kids. That made man stronger in society and gave him power.he was involved in situations like crimes, revenges cause woman was always back at home with no one to fight for.
That is who we was but we can't run away from our past. It is around us today when most of the women try to get married before 30 or try to look good for man. Obvious isn't it?

 

Speak for yourself pard. That may be true in general , but there have always been other examples for women to follow. My great great grandmother on the Cherokee side shoot and killed two white men in her front yard defending her daughter from rape and was well known as the best shot with a rifle in the county. My mother met my dad who was welter weight champ of the Pacific Theater in WWII as his airel gunnery instructor and she was also a crack shot. Neither of these women took any guff off men nor were their men pushovers.
The problem as much as "being pushed" into these roles is that society frowns on "uppity women" and it takes a strong soul to stand up and be that example and I thank my God/ess that I have been privleged to know a few.

I don't think thoughtfull people laugh at men getting abused by women, we may look at our mates and jokingly say, see what happens.. but I don't personnaly know any women that thought it was funny when the Bobbit thing took place. I think a lot of times that people in general laugh at things that scare them, to take the edge off. Like when someone falls down, some people laugh.

 

in ancient egypt woman owned land and could petition for devorce, the old galic word for woman was godsib, literealy translated as sibling of the gods ( also the origen of the word gossip some people think. woman wernt always treated as second class citizens everywere, and it would seem that throughout history there have been more people worshiping a goddess than a god, aside from recent history of course

 

I think you've got that right Sis, people laugh and even make jokes about things too horrible and or scary for them to contemplate in any other way. This is what leads to the seemingly sick humor of folks like EMTs, firemen, and yes even cops. It seems to be a form of mental healh self defence.

Then there are those sick minded people who hit other people and then laugh at them. I guess hitting people scares them too?

 

In my years of experence as a crisis intervention specialist I've come to believe such people suffer from deep rooted fears and that they see their lashing out as proactive self defense and the laughing is a nervous reaction steming from the same fears.

I agree with Ranger, When the presure is on, and you feel like lashing out, all the negitive energy is collected in the whirlwind of emotion and it takes a life of it's own. The negitive force is then broadcasted and aimed at the source of the frustration being presented.
Some people feel powerless when it come to handling difficult situations. The only power they feel they have is brute strength. I belive it is the Ego trying to distroy the body. The I'm the boss you mind me thing. Ego distroys the Spirit as well, it stifels it. The bigger the Ego the more violent we become. We cannot see beyond our own selves, we then impose our will onto others trying to gain surpream controll/power. This kind of thinking is the lower thinking mind and does not work in the Collective ALL. They accually have no validation in their lives and it brings on a attitude of FEAR. While not using their higher mind of reasoning they resort to physical force to feel better about themselves.
This kind of behavior isn't fullfilling to them either and drives them deeper into the nightmare they have created for themselves drawing more negitive energy to them.
The only control we truely have is over ourselves. It starts we each one of us, what we draw from the universe and how we represent ourselves is the only control we have authority over.
Why we laugh, I think it's the Ego trying to keep the Spirit in tow, or subdued. Thinking with the I and not the collective ALL. I also think these ones, the ego ridden ones, are throw backs from when we needed warriors the fend off the beasts. Their gene rememberance is influencing their judgement.

At the beginning of this thread, all the past events involving abuse hit me like a ton of bricks. My emotion were overwhelming and my pain came pouring out. Not just for the ordeals I went through but for all the victoms of abuse, and in my experiences it was women on the majority that was/is being abused. I reacted to that, that which I know to be a reaility that is so prevelant in our soceity.
When the flood of emotion died down and I regained control over them I felt I was better equipted to address this issue. I did however feel threatened in this thread and responded in deffence.

im not so sure you should be talking of senarios when all of them are based on a male basis...i totally agree that men can be mistreated. but after reading this whole thread i find some very closed minded people trying to go off at on women stating her opinion. but back to senarios, the last of the three senarios. it was a guy wouldnt leave my sister in law alone so i told him to leave several times...he wouldnt so i pushed him out of my way. he punched me and kicked me when i was on the ground, then ran from the cops. he told them he slapped me and i was holding his leg when they saw him kick me...he got handcuffed as you said.as for the ruining your life and your whole comment of how the laws unfair to men in said situation..he got three days in jail, and anger managment. and i got a black eye with a fracture that wont go away, so next time you make senarios/assumptions maybe you should make um fair....

As a society we view males as being more prone, more capable, more likely to commit a violent crime against a women.....Reality, that is how it is. Not a fair evaluation.

I am 5'2" and about 107 lbs, if I take a back hand I am going to fly..........but if I hit him first then that is another matter. I have no more right to lay a hand on him than he does on me. I call the police he is going to fry for it............simple.

They will come into my home and look at me and book him.

Shameless I am sorry that you have gone through what you have but you attacked on this thread those who did not do you any harm. How did I bash men. I only related what I have experienced. Are you saying what I and thousands of women went/go through are lies. Are you saying that there are more men that get worse abuse at home. I don't understand where you get that from. I have seen maybe thirteen men that have abuse problems from their spouses, and that doesn't put a dent into the women I worked with the the crises centers across the USA that have faced abuse everyday of their lives. I am not unsympathitic to the spousal abuse of men. I counciled them as I did the women, with love, commpassion and understanding. I do not hate men, I have many many male friends. I have a husband and four sons of whom I love love love. I have called no one names or blamed abuse ultimately on men.

I have had vast experience in spousal abuse. I have worked in crises centers all around the US. I have been victomised by abuse. If I cannot speak here then no one can. If you opened the inventoin of the telephone thread and ben franklin came in and disagreed to what you were saying about the telephone, would you erase his post too. I know as much about abuse as Ben knew about the telephone.
