I wouldn't shed a tear if this joke called "modern" society as we know it, goes down the drain. In fact, in many ways, it already has. It's waay too fucked up and corrupted anyway. :leaving:
yeah whenever I try to talk to someone about our r'ship to the earth, I don't usually even bring up global warming. If I did, I'd call it climate change, since global warming is a misnomer and makes people think it's not too bad, just higher temps . But mostly I talk about how when we exploit the earth for our own convenience and advancement, we are cheating ourselves out of the benefit of being in touch with nature. If we were truly spiritual, and really had sparks of divinity, we'd be much less cavalier about using the earth. Everyone gets uplifted and in a way recalibrated by being outdoors, but they don't tend to wonder if the outdoors are vulnerable to extinction.
Sure there is nothing stupid about being non-conformist due to your personal preferences but it's obvious when someone is being non-conformist just to prove something about themselves which obviously isn't true. If you were serious about solving pollution problems you would be studying environmental science with all the other "conformist squares", also stop talking about mother nature and spirituality or no one will take you seriously.
everyone is different, and everyone is trying to do his best in their way. I think as a group of people are acting the same then it still doesnt work to make things better. So i think we need to support each other in the good things we are doing, and not try to lay up your or my visions for example about how to make the world better because that is what you or me for example have to do... i think.
Its like no one cares, no compassion for life, living, ect. Its all greed. No real human emotion or connection is shown, just this motion after that, this mindless action after this. Yes global warming is happening. Im more concerned with the people and their outlook on the world. Following that the impact its going to have, what kind of people will my children be in society with? I cant have faith in this culture America has become, maybe our freedom has gone too far in some respects. I dont want to say that, but really, fat people can sue mcdonalds for being fat and stupid shit like that- the courts have too much power, individual rights have extended too far. Are there no reasonable limits? By law, technically, correct. Garbage. I dont have any faith in its stability. I really hope our next president will calm this, but I more likely think that it will do nothing.
as for the whole McDonalds thing, I don't think its a matter of personal freedom, its a matter of stupid people actually being listened to. i think when all those dumb fatasses try to sue fast food resturants, we should just tell them to fuck off, grow up, snap out of it, and get a life. then politely ignore them while they cry and eat a 2lbs hamburger at the same time.
Britain is getting worse. Apparently we are Morally ambiguous, according to Mps and members of parliament. Society in Britain is in no way moral. We now have a decadent society. Places like Continental Europe are way ahead of us in terms of progress for the future. The middle east continue to be the problem, the obstacle toward world peace. I reckon that things need to get worse before they get better.
freedom is people having the right to eat what they want... but common sense is blocking out the idiots who can't stop cramming their faces.
yeah of course you are free to eat what you want, but isnt it stupid that shitfood is there walking almost over the street and healthy food is pushed away for the ones that CHOOSE?? it... i mean it is better to eat food that nature provides you, in your area. You can do whatever with that food that you want untill you like it. But big mass productions like Macdonals, i'm not going to say anything about them because we all know what they are doing...well i'll maybe consider buying stuff there if they sell biological and only biological food. (and you can make really nice snackfood from that also!)
I've always been the type to always try and eat healthy and organic. I keep my meat to a minimum; avoid food coloring; avoid junk food... but you know what I've noticed? Eating healthy is expensive! As for mass productions, I work at Jack in the Box... and I'll give them credit; the food is clean and sanitary and properly cooked; but its like its not real. it comes to us in truck shipments, the meat cut into perfectly round, flat circles. When we drop them on the grill it sounds like plastic hitting plastic.... its not wholesome. Our salads are pretty fresh; we throw them away if they're a day old... we have good orange juice and applesauce, okay milk....
Going back to topic, about the downfall of society. I couldn't care less about this plastic society, full of plastic people, eating junk food out of their plastic containers. :leaving: Imagine - JOHN LENNON http://youtube.com/watch?v=icAzyx8EsKU
Actually, I think it's pretty nonsense and bad to throw one day old salads away just because the restaurant's and customers high standards. Why don't sell it cheaper for instance to students? I don't see anything wrong with eating meat every now and then, but some people are just a bit too easy with food. I don't see anything wrong with eating at a fastfood restaurant one time a month. I think there is a scary amount of people that don't have a clue what their hamburger actually is and where it came from..
hey, I don't make the rules; i just follow them if I want a paycheck... but yeah, we get 50% discount on our lunch, so I usually have a Jumbo Jack for lunch... we used to have discounts for students, military, law enforcement, etc. but we got rid of those, especially the law enforcement because they're not supposed to accept it. Now we just have a senior discount; a lowsy 50 cents, and if we forget it, they have a tantrum.
Hehe, I wasn't attacking you . But yeah, it's not about the discounts, but about all the good food being just thrown in the bin. A lot of food chains, supermarkets and restaurants are doing that unfortunately. And that while in other places people would pretty much kill for a three day year old salad. I know that sounds very cliché but it's still the very sad reality.
because then they couldn't use preservatives or sugar... see, snack foods are made from cheap ingredients that don't get old, so they're easy to sell and make a profit from. Healthy foods like meat and fruit and vegetables can't really be preserved on their own, and are usually more expensive.
