Sometimes an apathetic approach is actually closer to the truth and quite realistic as opposed to the attitude of some young people who at the ripe old age of 19 think, they already know everything. Please explain how or if your approach actually works before you make snide remarks. For example, does a Jumbo Jack, actually make a healthier, better person or a fatter pig.
Well, it's very simple: some people like the taste of unhealthy food better The problem with all that food with lots of saturated fat is that we don't work it off anymore. Back in the day when a lot of people were poor and eat unhealthy greasy food they worked it off with hard labour, haha. Now the same kind of people are employed at office jobs and the like but still eating like they're working their physical ass off
I agree with Asmodean. A lot of good, nutritious food is wasted, while millions live in poverty, hunger and disease elsewhere, eh, even right here in good ole' U.S.A. Welcome to American society folks, the home of the ignorant, the wasteful and stupid.
oh, the apathetic approach? Well aren't you cool... I like cool, apathetic people. Just what we need to change the world. In the words of Alvin Lee: "I'd love to change the world, but I don't know what to do." I'd Love to Change the World - TEN YEARS AFTER http://youtube.com/watch?v=jzrUqAtUcpU
i made snacks with healthy food, and they really don't taste healthy but like a snack...But there were no e-numbers, taste-flavours or colour things in it and it still was a snack.
Well, I also suppose unhealthy food with all those additions is just more convenient to prepare and easy to get. But I wouldn't really appreciate it if fastfood restaurants were gonna make hamburgers with unsaturated fat and the snackbars were gonna sell frikandellen of white meat. Some snacks are ment to be fat and a tad unhealthy! I'm glad that in our country almost all snackbars bake in vegetable fats and oils, though. That's not degrading the taste neither
pff what do you think there are many ways to get something tastefull like with herbs and other spices! especially the frikandellen
I don't think eating healthy is more expensive...well, unless you're accustomed to the dollar menu at wendy's. I just cruise the produce section and load up on cheap stuff. Eating healthy is, however, more difficult with more planning and work. One problem is that if you haven't tasted the spirit of exclusively whole-food health, you haven't quite got the motivation to do it. I used to eat plenty of healthy stuff, but I also ate plenty of unhealthy stuff. That makes the effort retard a bit. Once you cancel out ALL the junk and eat only whole foods (for at least a couple of weeks), you'll realize how much better life can be. Once you detox, your mind is sharper and you don't get tired throughout the day. I can't tell you the stunning realizations I've had after being on a strict whole/raw food diet. I probably don't need to; there seems to be many in this thread that have experienced the same thing. i know this isn't based on the original premise of the thread, but whatever-it's eight pages long, the discussion is bound to take a diff. direction
It can only happen in the United Kingdom. You are amongst the lucky ones. In my country, life really is black and white, all or nothing, striving for nothing and sand kicked in face then crying at the wall of corruptions. john you have to realise the uk has always been a feudal society, if you are a peasant you should understand that the government doesn't give a damn about your existence they can replace you very easily by the next sucker to be shipped in. you have fallen into the trap of being told what english society is by the people who own it, that is what makes you sad - the incongruity between what you are told and the reality. it is the end of the empire, of course there is confusion and chaos and sausage factories of turning out enlightened idiots who subscribe to whatever the new directive is. i feel sorry for you. maybe you need to move.
I know it is. People are sitting idly by and allowing themselves to be robbed by big business and big government. The concept of community is losing its meaning because people are more interested in indulging their greed to be concerned with anyone else. People are supposed to compose a natural balance to keep big business and government in check but we've taken ourselves out of the equation. Soon enough, when people can't afford the distractions we currently take for granted because big oil and big government has robbed and taxed us to the point where we can barely feed ourselves... and the price of food has hit the roof because some staples within the food production chain double as fuel alternatives and that is used as an excuse to jack those prices through the roof. people will be desperate enough to FINALLY rebel against laws and policies that are intended to make a few people obscenely rich at the expense of so very many. I can only speak for the United States when I express my opinion that it's government is a criminal body that is currently in the process of aiding big business in robbing taxpayers while the vast majority of people sit idly and contently by and do absolutely nothing- empowering the oppressors.
i personally am extremely disturbed by today's society and I'll admit, a little scared as to where its going. I've been talking to my boyfriend about it a lot lately and it literally brings me to tears the state of our country and how afraid we have to be.
Things could really change for the better shortly. We are running out of gas and the economy is going to shit.. When the economy goes to hell people get dissatisfied and that is when all revolutions and change happens. People don’t want anything to change when they have a good home and a big TV. But a lot of people are going to lose that soon and they will be mad at the government. I don’t know wishful thinking, but I’m hoping for positive change the first thing I want change is the end to this fucking drug war!!! And corrupt out of control law enforcement
but who should we vote for? who should I vote for? That is what I always ask myself. I have an idea of who I will vote for, but I'm afraid they too will end up ruining the country. Who can I trust? Each candidate is a pawn, a tool.
If the assumption is that the major candidates are all tools, vote for the one with the least obnoxious master.
or, don't vote at all. It's a waste of time. If voting changed anything, then our right to vote would most likely be taken away. Whatever right we do have is at the convenience of those at the top. Least obnoxious master, assuming there are multiple masters, and that they all don't follow one 'mind' or one group.
