I don't care. And it's entirely true statement. And it's not like he's even a nice guy. He was trying to make fun of 73N5H1 for no reason other than looks. When he was the one who used to be a little bitch when I would call him a 40 pound ginger and be like "I can't control the way I look Pat" blah blah blah

And he's obviously mad just because his locks still absorb water. Considering everytime I say that he comes in and calls me a LIAR.

    Not saying i'm nice either

I used to be in the goth scene, so I'm used to dealing with elitists... usually its just a lame attempt to raise their own self-esteem... and believe me, the last thing I care about is what some idiot on a forum says, its part of the internet... spawning the common statement "don't feed the trolls" There are enough nice and genuine people here to make it worth dealing with the others anyways, like yourself for example =)

I apologize for my crude statements earlier. The inconsistancy of some members on this thread is laughable, my own included. This forum has become entirely shitty and the shitty, negative vibe has worked its way under my skin.

To Pat. I was not referring to your hair not being able to absorb water and I only called you out on that once. You need to realize that you are a drama queen and you consistently blow things out of proportion. The only purpose my statement had was to get a reaction out of you as you were the only person on and it's obviously very easy to get you all riled about about anything and everything under the sun. I think it's safe to say my goals were accomplished.

Like I said, I'm not one to take anything anyone on a forum says seriously anyways. Half the fun of posting on the internet is being able to say what you want when you want without consequence. Anyways, I have a thick skin and I'm secure enough with myself to not give a shit what anyone else thinks about me... I'm more of a "you give me shit, I'll give you shit back" kind of person. Besides, I have plenty of people in RL that think contrary. For every guy that's said they don't like my hair, tats, and makeup, I can easily find 5 girls that say they do ;)

I don't believe you either that your locks don't absorb water Pat. Sure it takes longer for the water to creep through, but after a while it does for sure. You just have to leave it soaking for long enough. I guess unless you come to Europe, or I go to Canada and show me we can't prove this either way, so I'm probably wasting my time writing this:D

I can only say for myself it just takes a while before the water really soaks through, once it does it takes hours to dry unless I can get out and take a walk in the sunshine.

Water seeps through rock, yeh? I'm pretty sure it could get through the rock-hardest of dreads eventually.

    lolz

i think we can take at least one thing away from amy's statement. people that say that they're locks are inpenetrable to water probably don't spend much time in the shower.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I agree with Pat. Certain hair types will repel water, especially when they are mad dreaded. My hair is far from having mature dreads, but the parts that are dreaded don't absorb water, even if I dunk them in the bath. So, somebody write down this day as a day to remember, because I think... Pat... is... right.

I can see it repelling water if you use wax or something and undoubtably the parts of my hair that are mature don't absorb water as easily as less mature parts, but it still absorbs water to some extent. I'm willing to bet, if you weighed your head before you took a shower, washed your hair, then weighed your hair again, it would be much heavier. It takes a good 15 minutes of soaking to get my hair to absorb a substantial amount of water.

To claim it can't absorb water seems rather absurd to me, but Pat's hair is obviously natural so that makes a huge difference.

Yeah, perhaps they repel water or are water resistant. I would guarantee enough time soaking, and water will penetrate any porous surface. It's physics. Why would tightly matted hair make a difference?

Maybe I should edit that and say, they don't 'readily' absorb water. Why would I lie? Since I am washing my hair with Dr. B's soap only when absolutely necessary, my natural oils have taken over again, thus repelling water. I'm not saying they are bone dry when I get out of the bath, but they definitely don't hold as much water as the undreaded parts.

If you have enough natural oils to repel water, you need to wash your hair.
