how did the only black person in the room react? also, i love how this turned into people venting about how hard it is to be a whitey.
us whitey's got it hard. He didn't say much... everyone else was talking over him. First time I've met him and he seemed fairly shy.
you need to learn to be a better seeker i played hide in seek with my cousins (who are all black) all the time, and I always found everyone by the end of the night. Maybe you should wear all black.
hey I am a terrific speaker. In 6th grade I got nominated for the O.B.B.S.V.P.A.A.V "Offical Boys Best Speaker and Vocabulary Pronounciation Awards of Australian Voices"
That's because in the interest of racism reform, we've ushered in reverse racism, along with a better camoflauged type of racism to complement it. I honestly don't think you where bring racist, but that's the sort of thing where you just won't make any headway, because it's pounded into everyones minds that it's not ok to even mention our differences, which is quite literally changing the whole idea of racism, which makes people think it's ok to be racist because they can tell that it's ok to point out legitimate differences in people. Or that's my take, anyway. If it made any sense.
Reverse racism? That doesn't make any sense. Racism is defined as discrimination against a race. It doesn't matter if the race is a minority or a majority.
While that's technically true, in practice, that's not how it's seen, and perception is everything because I get called racist by ignorant racist people all the time....
modern racism is fucking ridiculous. I think your point was valid Enjoy. The only people who were "racist" in this situation were the other people playing the game, they equate pointing out a difference in skin color with racism. aren't you all fucking Aussies anyway? fucking Aussies..... your situation could be equated with say pointing out that MMA fighters need different weight classes to make fights fair. got damn i'm so sick of these hypersensitive pussies.
so this reminds me of this movie preview i saw the other day. (I'm not sure what gets shown and at what time in other countries, so this might be targeted mainly to americans, sorry 'bout that). So American Hollywood has decided to remake a perfectly good, hilarious British movie called 'Death at a Funeral', with the main characters being all black this time around. And at one point Chris Rock says something along the lines of how his father was having gay sex with a little person and how his brother is angry cause he (the little person) is white. that pissed me off. because if a white person EVER said something about being angry that a white person was dating/having sex with a black person, instant RACIST branding. yet if a black person says the same thing about white people, its totally fine and considered humorous. thats reverse racism. and it fucking sucks.
meh, it's racist either way, it's just more socially accepted when minorities make racist comments. Not saying that is right but it's just the way it is. As for the OP, no you weren't being racist but I wasn't there so I can't say if your comments (or rather the way you sad them) made the black guy feel uncomfortable (which could be the reason your friends jumped on your case). Any who just ask the black guy to keep at least one eye open the next time you play hide-n-seek in the dark eh.
I hear you Zilla. Next time I am with them I'm gonna be a racist motherfucker and drop the n-bomb on every black person I see. When I said it I wasn't saying it a serious about it. They need to drink some cement and toughen the fuck up.
