Oh man, dogs! They sure can be curious about dreads.
I have a friend Andrew who was interested in getting dreadlocks. He brought his pit puppy over to my house every once and while too. So once he was over with his puppy and asked to see my dreads. I had cut at this point but I had kept them. So I bring them out in there bag, showed them to him, then set them down.
    Big mistake.
I was petting the puppy to see some hair in her mouth. Not dog hair, but long curly blondish hair. She had been eating my dreads. Well...chewing on them anyway. I had several wet dreads, and a hair ball to clean up.
Is was unpleasant, but I can be thankful they weren't on my head :D
