Quick question before I start: should I wash my hair again before I start twisting and ripping? I've been washing with just water, and I just washed it yesterday.

don't forget to smear it with marmot poop, it helps it lock the most in the first week.

I have a hard time just crocheting loose hairs back into my dreads by myself. I can't imagine trying to dread my hair by myself.

lemme make something clear... hair will matte on its own... that is to say that it will become a dread without any outside influence and that is especially true if you keep your hair clean.

you don't need help, the fact that you think you do shows how much you couldn't handle dreads

I've already made my choice not to go natural/neglect. I didn't want to wait that long. That's why I've chosen to give my hair a start by twist and ripping it.

wel good luck, but it wont really be "dreads" until it begins to mature. and maturation will only happen with time.
