Attack him? Just cause I am in the majority doesnt mean that I am attacking. Why is it when i am stating MY OPINION it's attacking?
I am not attacking him, nor did I think he was attacking me. He made a statement that I don't agree with and am confused by. I am trying to clarify it and understand what he means.
Because your not giving an opinion, you are constantly trying to get him to differ between your silly pictures when he has already stated the reason he wont.
that does seem like pretty sound logic to me. (bcmamas post) i wanna say, im not feeling any anger or anything about this discussion, im thinking of it as purely friendly, b/c i have no problem at all with you pat, you seem cool and i dont think youre putting anyone or their methods down. and i love natural locks too. and im sorry because you probably feel attacked right now.
I don't care how they are classified. I am just trying to understand your whole theory on natural vs BC textures and how you can easily tell the difference bewteen the two on mature dreads.
you have a pretty malicious way of 'trying to understand'. I'm not sure what else there is to understand. A lot of the time he can tell the difference. The end.
From what I have seen in my personal experience, natural locks in the end tend to be thicker and more unevenely distributed amongst the head. Along with a larger mess near the roots of loose hairs. Backcombed tend to be neater and more uniformed. Like I said though, this doesnt apply to every set of backcombed and every set of natural. Just from what I've seen in my life
No, I am simply asking that he back up his statements with some kind of proof. That's pretty common in debates.
Wow...I've never been called malicious before. I honestly was just enjoying a debate. I was trying to understand and see things from Pat's view, but was having a hard time understanding his view. I did not ask anything with cruel intent. I don't understand because I have seen alot of dreadheads over the years and it is almost impossible to tell what method they have used. I tried to guess many times, and was wrong. I am sorry if I upset anyone here, that was not my intention.
did i say you were belittling people on this forum? I said you were belittling a reason simply because it's not your own. Talk about circles. night
And all I was saying is I can normally spot them I have been wrong before though. Whenever I see someone with dreads we normally automatically chat and compare and I normalyl guess correct when they tell me how they were made
Wow, a 50/50 chance and you normally guess correct and sometimes guess wrong? Your amazing. I'm glad we had this chat, to get to this point. I dont have a problem with your personally, just most of the stuff your saying doesnt make sense to me. ps. last post tonight, i promise
ok how bout this *hopes this post doesnt get ignored* my locks were backcombed to start and are now two years old. do you think they look backcombed? i just think that it varies greatly and once they are mature (and the hair has grown out and knotted up naturally from the root) it is hard to tell. i wouldnt call mine mature, but they are terribly messy, uneven, congoed, and with tons of loose hair. the ends are also rounding themselves. so do you think if you saw me on the street, you would know what method i used? http://www.hipforums.com/newforums/showthread.php?t=353428&f=209 how bout bcmama? i think hers look as natural as yours. and if you saw her timeline pics, youd see why. she had crazy hair that did its own thang. i think people just wanted to understand why you seemed to think that it was always obvious... when we dont really think it is. maybe weve seen more heads of dreads idk. yeah in some cases, i can tell... especially if someone has maintained a lot or has really neat rounded tips. but the way i did backcombing allowed for a lot of natural expression from my hair and i have let my hair do its thing since. so its not always obvious, yes? ps, i really dont care about this discussion and i cant believe ive been part of it for so long lol. im tired and trying to adjust to a graveyard shift so i needed something to occupy my attention
Werd SL. As i said waaaay back in this thread a day or two ago it's all about what you do or don't do to your hair after whatever method you've used.
I would of guessed backcombed for both of yous mainly because of the loops (if bc mamas are the dreads I'm picturing in my mind). My reasoning is that backcombed dreads i've seen tend to have loops all over the bodies where as mine only looped near the tips and roots while they were developing. Nautral dreads tend to dread from the roots and tips and work there way in whereas backcomb dread closer to the middle and the tips and roots dread last. Note: For the record, I once had backcombed dreads lol
