Well thank you for actually reading the thread and not just concluding that I said natural is better than backcombed
Oh I see, after arguing for this long you are taking the "high ground" the "i dont care, everything i have said i cant back up at all, but meh" Nice. You seem a valued member of the community
Sometimes you dont have to type it to get your point across, your elitist attitude will do that for you.
seems that you two are about to go around in circles. Time to kiss and make up. No point in getting bent out of shape over a difference of opinion. oh, and i wanna go to bed. peace.
Okay.... yours are thicker & fatter, seem to be more uniform in size than my random sized thick, thin & in-between dreads. Your ends are rounded & blunt, where mine still have some whispy ends and none of my tips look as perfectly blunt as yours. We both seem to have a fair amount of loose hairs & frizzies. Going by past descriptions and explainations on the differences, you would think that my dreads were the natural ones in this comparison. Thanks so much for answering my question....oh wait! You didn't answer anything! Nevermind.....
Ok, allowing for the fact that, as you can see in soaringeagle's dreads, the decisions you make about how often + how much to rip natural dreads can result in sections which could easily have started as backcombed ones (which weren't made to a strict grid, obviously)... If you start with 3 or 4 inches of hair, backcombing and maybe even waxing them once or twice...and several years later you have dreadlocks of 3 feet long...what then? What's all that other growth? What would it count as in the context of the photos in this thread? Crazy textures also don't mean natural by default. If I had to guess based on that I'd say WorldPeace's were natural and soaringeagle's were backcombed and regularly palm-rolled. I'm a bit puzzled by how the judgements are being made. __________________
Yeah, maybe when I was 4 i would have thought mind reading abilities and attitude were the same thing too.
happening to mine too. i backcombed though. and i bet you wouldnt know. dude, you cant just claim to be able to magically tell the difference btw backcombed and natural, then piss around saying "well they arnt mature" then try to side step entirely by using you own for comparison and completely fail to back yourself up after arguing for pages. itll piss us off. i got nothing against you at all. but i think you should take a stab at the pics i posted cause its pissing me off that no one who claims to be able to tell has actually stepped up and proven it. it makes it seem like your all talk and no one will take you seriously. i wont think any less of you if you get it wrong
Going on that therory, my dreads are mostly natural now, with about 6 inches of backcombed hair at the tips.
Im curious how long the blunted tips take to occur...and how I can keep them from doing that. I like my whispies......
lol I wouldnt care either way and pictures can make dreads look really different.Ask my grlfriend, my hair looks totally different in person and thousands of my loose hairs dont even show up
You really seem to pick things up slowly dont you. You dont have to STATE something with an ATTITUDE Some homework for you: at⋅ti⋅tude –noun 1. manner, disposition, feeling, position, etc., with regard to a person or thing; tendency or orientation, esp. of the mind: a negative attitude;

He never stated he liked one better than the other he only said that a lot of the times you can see differences. He never made a personal attack on any one. We have 2 friends who have backcombed & have dread extenders in and you can Definitely see the difference between his and theirs (and even mine) . BUT a lot of time they're are backcombed ones that are nice and messy and we would never know the difference. We all did something different and all like a different look so as long as your happy with your locks, and no ones attacking you than who cares? :cheers2:
*nods vigorously* jared and i were talking about that just last night. by that (quite reasonable) logic, my dreads are about half backcombed, his are only 7 inches or so backcombed, which leaves a ton of hair that has locked up naturally. what do you call that?
