You can use banana, tofu the creamy sort and chickpea flour also known as gram flour mixed with water as it goes quite sticky like a egg. The chickpea flour is good for when you are making burgers as they do need something to stick them together as I found not using stuff they just break up. Also i think I in one of your thread luxie that you dopnt like tofu, well i never used to like it either. But I found some amazing recipes thast make it taste great,. Its also good if you get the creamy type and add chocolate powder(vegan) vanillia esence and sugar or maple syrup YUM and a little lemon juice and blend it together.Put in fridge to set and you have 'VEGAN chocolate mousse!'. Also i found a recipe to make vegan bacon using soy sauce ,liquid smoke(imported from us) and vegan nutritional yeast flakes. Its so scarily like bacon its untrue!! Its so TASTY and even my cats liked it lol.
Oh sorry forgot to add salt to that, and once it's finished I leave it in the fridge for about 1/2 hour or longer. I think it's supposed to relax the dough or something? The only other thing, I use 00 flour preferably, but I can't find it here so I just use normal flour. It seems to work fine, but maybe not quite as well.
chemigals I could be interested in that bacon recipe! And Merrivale I'm glad I'm not the only one struggling to find things in shops lol (omg the tea selection here is dire!! )
I was 8 stone about 1.5 years ago at 16, 5'10. I became vegetarian 1.5 years ago and have since grown to 6ft, 7 stone 9. You should start again
Ok, I'm trying to work out a new weekly meal plan, that doesn't revolve around so much meat (currently up to 4 or 5 days a week) so I can free up some shopping budget for some organic meat. My main wish at the moment is to cut out animal products from intensive farming. I think two meat meals a week is realistic for buying organic, so I need clear plans for the other five if this is going to work, especially with my tendency to be really disorganised about food shopping and just grab a pack of pork chops. So to take 7 weekly meals in broad categories: 1. meat 2. meat 3. soup 4. cheese 5. fish 6. ? 7. ? So I only need to fill two gaps. I'd rather stick with wholefood veggie things than processed meat alternatives or tofu. Any ideas? Maybe nuts for one and pulses for the other? My husband really likes hot spicey foods...can this still work?
That's terrible (rainforest clearing) Riloh sounds like he is going to be a very healthy & down to earth kid Just like his mum Happy 1000th post too
I generally have when feeling lazy: Some rice, with some homemade chutney, jacket potato & lots of roasted/fried vegetables Goes down a treat!
Hey Amy this is the bacon recipe. Vegan Bacon 1 lb firm tofu, cut into strips shaped like bacon 2 tablespoons nutritional yeast 2 tablespoons soya sauce 1 teaspoon liquid smoke 1 tablespoon oil, something neutral, not olive oil 1. Fry tofu strips on low heat until they are crispy on the outside. The best way to do this is to lay them in the pan in the oil and let them sit for at least 10 minutes or longer the crispier the better . simmering. They should turn easily after that. 2. Turn them and give them another 10 minutes on the other side. 3. Mix the soya sauce with the liquid smoke first, then take the pan off the heat. 4. Pour the liquid smoke/soya sauce into the pan and stir the tofu so all sides are coated. 5. Sprinkle the yeast over all, stir some more, over the heat, until the liquid is gone and the tofu is covered with sticky yeast.

veggie most of the time. but if we shoot a moose or a deer i might have a peice of roast or some stew. NEVER EVER will i EVER eat grocery store meat EVER again!!!! and i buy organic unpasturized cheese and free range eggs from local farmers... should be getting our own chickens this year for eggs though.... i'm more into the whole, "clean eating" thing more than anything... don't like to classify myself as an omni or a veggie or a vegan, or whatever... i don't think having dreads neccessarily goes hand in hand with being a veggie ... life is short we should enjoy it... and at the same time remain concious of our actions
I want some chickens too, my daughter loves eggs but just think it would be cool to have them roaming in the garden too. Id make them a nice wooden house too.
you have a dane!? i have a dane too! and a boxer puppy! they're both raw fooders. we feed them raw meat and fruit and veggies. the puppy LOVES blueberries
