Yea, for me dreams are just thoughts, they don't mean anything. I thought of something else to say gret after I posted that: We drift away from people in our past for a reason, and maybe its for the best. What program/course do you want to do?

For the last few weeks Ive been dreaming regularly that I'm at my grandmas house. Nearly every night I'm there, and some weird dream thing is going on. I wonder why....... Lol

a lot of my dreams are based on feeling. sometimes its the only thing about the dream i remember, the way i feel during it. our emotions have such a heavy influence on us, and it makes dreams feel sooo real.

Has anyone ever tried lucid dreaming? I've only done it once or twice and then woke up shortly after, but I'm curious to know if anyone else has had this experience?

i tried to get into it...you almost have to train yourself. i read a book once about it, a good way to bring awareness into your dreams is by practicing it while you are awake. It said to write "Be aware" on you hand and throughout your day look at your hand and take in you surroundings....soon enough you will start to look at your hand in your dreams, and you will have the awarness that you are dreaming...

never really tried this method but i could see how it could work.

Ooooo I have; what an amazing time it was. I have this semi-sleep disorder called 'hypnogogic hallucinations' which can happen to anyone really if they are sleep-deprived enough. When I had them at first, it scared me so I asked a psychology professor of mine and he told me if I could become aware of my dreams these hallucinations wouldn't scare me anymore and instead would be fun.

After that, whenever these hallucinations would happen, I would immediately recognize it and then choose what to do next. I would always choose to fly out my window and go around my neighborhood, it was amazing.

The hallucinations and the lucid dreaming have since ceased as I am no longer insanely sleep-deprived.

long story short: I can't lucid dream without the Hypno. thing happening but if you can-- amazing!! Hope everyone gets this kind of experience at elast once in their life!

That's so cool! I had no idea so many people were good at it!

Starbuck, that's what I heard too, be aware. I have a dream interpretation book that has a small section on lucid dreaming. According to this book, the more you say to yourself "I'm going to have a lucid dream", the easier it is. IDK tho, I'm no master :)

    HDH-
A year or two ago I took a summer and dedicated it to learning, got myself on a weird sleep schedule involving waking up every three hours for thirty minutes and going to sleep again. (only during the nights btw)
then once that was down I looked for signs that I was sleeping (powerlessness, sudden change in location, random weirdness, etc) and associated those things with being in a dream. Waking up let me go back to sleep and very quickly return to dreaming to look for the signs. Soon it just clicked in my head 'yeah, I'm dreaming, I'll do what I want now'

Also dream recall is the most important thing, but I've always been good at rembering all my dreams each night. If you have trouble remembering keep a dream journal and think about your dream first thing when you wake up and soon you'll probably remember automatically.

The thing that amazes me about lucid dreaming is how real everything physically feels.

Has anyone tried it? It's a condition.
    lol

I've had them since I was a kid, they're not always pleasant. And not being able to tell if you're dreaming or if you're awake isn't always a good experience. You learn to control them over time, but sometimes you cant. And you keep waking up, or thinking that you're waking up until you actually do. :(

i guess the hardest part is figuring out that you are dreaming. i saw something about trying to find a light switch in the room and seeing if the light actually changes when you switch it.

my dreams are really...primitive...not advanced...they are always the same and it feels like i am watching amovie rather than participating in it.

    prolly too much pot.

Quite often, when I wake up during a great dream I can go back to sleep and carry on the dream exactly where I left off. I am aware that I'm dreaming sometimes but I don't like it and quickly wake up

    Ditto.

And normally the mention of lasgana would make me crave it buuuuut...my tummy is full of Popeye's. (Fuck the stereotype I will proudly proclaim my love of the chicken that is fried.)

I think I've had lucid dreams...not sure though.
