ok, just so you know, white zin isn't wine. it is poison. so that was your first mistake. sparks, mike's hard lemonade, and corona are all pretty bad choices as well. as far as beer goes, if you like light beers, try a pilsner. If you like white wine, I agree with bella, sauvignon blanc is good. you might like pinot grigio. If you like reds, my favorite is a good pinot noir. Castle Rock makes a decent pinot that is pretty cheap. And Yellowtail wines are cheap as balls but decent. good for cooking too.
To be honest, I've never had white zinfindel. I have some savigon blanc, and it's pretty sweet (but keep in mind that I usually only drink red wine) I mean, if you want sweet stuff, it should be enough. You don't want something so sweet that it makes you sick to drink it.
It's sweet, a bit sweeter than a fume blanc. The bitterness you're tasting from the white zin, is the tannins and overall lack of quality. It's prob the sweetest wine you're going to get in terms of the type of sugar cotent you are tasting. try some savigon blanc with some fruit or a piece of fruit pie and after you're used to that, try chardonay with buttered popcorn.
Muscato. That's a desert wine and will be sweeter than the white zin. It's kinda of syrupy though. there's a sparkelign variety (muscato de asti) and the corbonation seems to cut donw on the syrupy sweetness of it. It's awesome in a bellini.
because it is cheap and sickeningly sweet. It's the bitch drink of winos. savignon blanc isn't that sweet, it is crisp and tart... sometimes grapefruity. I always buy it for when I cook tilapia.
tilapia is so good and fresh around here.. and it's sustainably harvested. and only $8/lb... such a win. I love cooking so much and Dean loves it even though 95% of the time it is vegetarian stuff... gotta break down and do the fish every now and then.
Andy's a meat eater, and I'm a veggie. I finally found a solution yesterday. I grilled a bunch of chicken soulvaki for him on the indoor grill. I made enough for lots of left overs so when I make falafel next week or greek potatoes, he'll have meat to go with. I am so excited abotu this, because he's always loved my cooking, but with how much he works and works out, it never filled him up. Is the tilapia from teh gulf? Are you back in Tejas?
I am not a veggie, I used to be a strict one. Still have to get used to saying 'I just don't like meat' instead of 'I'm a veggie'.
Yeah, I just say I'm vegetarian when people offer me meat, but my friends know that I'm actually pesce. Dean eats meat but he eats veggie food too and doesn't complain, he's a small guy and doesn't need a ton of food. And if we go out he will just order chicken or something. He wants to go veg but can't seem to give up burgers and chicken and ribeye.... I don't think the tilapia are from the gulf, I'm pretty sure they are freshwater fish. So I think we get them from the rivers.
