That and then being tested and found to have an illegal substance in their system and it fucks things up even more.

But yet.. stoners still don't understand why all other drug users look down upon pot smokers.. it has nothing to do with "my drug is better than your drug" it's usually the simple fact that most marijuana smokers are immature.. they feel the right to put themselves on a hypocritical pedestal above other users.. thinking that what they are doing is "completely harmless" as shown multiple times within this thread alone

why is coke not legal? people die.. from irresponsibility(OD).. why is heroin not legal? people die.. from irresponsibility(OD).. why are psychs not legal? people decide that they can take them wherever they want and in turn cause harm to others by flipping their shit.. from.. you got it.. irresponsibility...

If more drug users in general were responsible users.. this country would not have to have a war on drugs.. look at Switzerland.. they legalized heroin.. crime went down.. OD'ing went down.. all because they were able to make their addicts responsible by going to proper facilities to obtain heroin

Again thats exactly right. Im surprised alcohol is legal actually but its too ingrained for that to be changed, its true though. Everytime someone has an accident or something bad happens and are found to have any drug in their system then thats always the primary reason given for whatever happened.

See you point out the extreme cases ignoring the fact that for the vast majority of people that never happens. As for coke and heroin ODs, the fact they're illegal, the quality is always unknown and the cuts in it lead to most ODs

And Switzerland didn't legalize heroin, they legalized giving it to addicts, because in the late 70's and 80's Switzerland had a huge heroin problem, people shooting up in parks like it was nothing, and voters have seen that the pilot program did in fact get people off park benches and into clinics.

trust me, i know the responsibility of driving. i've had many people i know get into serious shit because they didn't take full awareness of it.

one of my good friends died in a car wreck, i've been in a car wreck (some old bitch slid right through an intersection and hit me) and numerous situational mishaps on the road. i know what it takes to drive - and if i'm high i can still decide whether or not i can handle the risks - most of the time i can, because smoking fortunately doesn't impair your motor skills to the same degree as alcohol does. it isn't being irresponsible to understand that yes, i am fine to drive when moderately high because, no, weed isn't extremely altering.

joker i dont think it is a wild claim to say that marijuana is definitely way less inhibiting than other drugs, too - so to claim that it sometimes isn't bad to smoke and drive at all. there are many situational conditions to consider, though - whether and energy level for example

I'm not saying that the level of intoxication can be determined. I'm just saying it's pretty easy for a person to determine if they're too stoned to drive, which isn't so easy with alcohol.

Again, it's case-sensitive, because all drugs affects everyone differently. Sure, some people shouldn't drive while they're stoned and even those of us who drive perfectly normal after having smoked some weed shouldn't drive after a certain point, because there is a definite cut-off point where we're all just too stoned to do anything. lol

How does you driving on PCP fit into this argument:tongue: haha

yeah... but the extremes are what are tallied.. no body cares if a pot head is walking down the side walk trips and busts his head on the ground.. but they are definitely gonna take notice to some kid that gets into a serious accident and find traces of THC or whatever drug in his system.. same goes with the drunkard..

True. It just sucks ass, because those people who take notice never take into account that the accident may have still happened if the person didn't have THC in their system. It could have nothing to do with the accident, but marijuana will still take the blame.

    It's sad, really:(

also ask yourself "when does the extreme no longer become extreme"

you have a tumbler filled with a million balls... lets say green ones represent people under the influence of marijuana.. you add a 100 balls.. chances are slim that anything is going to happen.. you keep adding green balls those chances increase..

marijuana as a social acceptance has radically changed over the past couple decades.. and probably a 100fold this decade.. so many more people are accepting of marijuana use than they were in the 80s/90s.. meaning people are finding it "ok" to be high without anyone giving notice.. which in turn.. means more people are becoming more irresponsible with the loosening of these social restraints... you can see it every day.. in real life.. and in some of the ridiculous threads that pop up here

Of course, but then again what are the circumstances of the accident and if weed had anything to do with it. Even alcohol often, for most people .08 is a ridiculous limit, that's not even 2 beers for most people. While driving intoxicated on anything is never as good as driving when sober, there are actually quite a few studies that have shown marijuana's effects on driving are not that big and the fact people under the influence of weed know they are and attempt to compensate for them

I do agree with you, to an extent, but only because of the legalization issues. It would be very hard for the authorities to regulate stoned drivers, which will greatly influence legislation.

I'm sorry.. and i'm not discrediting these studies.. but we all know studies are never biased... you can go and find studies that show how harmful driving while on marijuana are too.. studies are just another matter of opinion overall.. of course a pro-marijuana study is going to show how great marijuana is.. while an anti-marijuana study is going to show you how harmful marijuana is

This is one thing thats always brought up from the anti legalization crowd, but at the same time there is a way to test for alcohol yet the police and society as a whole fails miserably at keeping drunk drivers off the road

The first 2 are from non biased sources, hell one is the family council on drug awareness, if anything that's anti weed. Erowid is normally pretty unbiased too. You can read the actual studies themselves and see how they were conducted

i think you are complaining about people driving high just to complain if you have driven while on PCP and also have smoked. you should know the differences in substances like weed and alcohol - and you have to realize that people CAN drive while high and it makes little difference in some.

    otherwise...i dunno

indeed.. marijuana users have a shit ton of hoops to jump through.. and funny thing is.. a lot of states that have decrim laws.. or med laws.. still have DUID laws.. meaning if they wanted to take a blood/urine sample and it came up with THC+.. you are getting a ticket.. there is a time and place for being high.. and behind the wheel is not one of them

Yeah that's stupid as fuck too. lol A person can smoke legally, then be driving one day, completely sober, and get a ticket for DUID. Laws are shitty.
