i think this statement would hold a little more weight say 4-10 years ago... polls show 1 out of every 2 americans feel marijuana should be legal
Your example of probability is kind of pointless. You can apply the same thing to say that all the green balls are SUVs while the white balls are regular cars, thus adding more SUVs increases the likelihood of an SUV getting into an accident. Probability works out in the favor of the one making the point. There will always be shitty drivers, they may be stoned, they may be sober. People generally don't become shitty drivers just because they smoke a little bit of weed, but even after just a little bit of alcohol some people are totally not able to drive. Comparing driving on these two different substances is preposterous. Who is to say that stoners can't be responsible drivers while high. It isn't like being high makes you forget the rules and regulations of driving, that is just simply a side effect of being a dumbass. Then what about being under the influence of prescription meds? A lot of medications warn you against driving on them until you know how they will affect you. Pot should be seen the same way IMO. Alcohol does impair driving to a large degree, much more so than just being moderately stoned. Obviously I'm not talking about getting so ripped you are falling asleep and then getting behind the wheel of a car, that is obviously irresponsible, but being moderately stoned really doesn't impair driving all that drastically.
because most people use it as an anchor to make marijuana legal.. if people said "let's make alcohol illegal" marijuana wouldn't have a chance EVER but basically i meant it in response to marijuana being socially acceptable
I think it should be Im glad its not though but people can be so retarded when they're pissed...Ireland has the highest rate of drunkeness in teenagers in Europe aswell I think..the state I've seen some people in is insane. All pubs and clubs close at 2 or 2:30 by law aswell so for a few hours after that at weekends the streets are packed with wasted people acting like spastics
oh god Ireland and alcohol, what a cliche. You should see the St. Patty's day parade here in New Haven, 25,000 wasted people walking the streets
Which is why I posted comparing the warning on medicine to a warning that should stand for any substance. Don't drive on the substance until you know how it will affect you.
True, and I knew what you meant. I was just making an observation. lol Most people don't even consider alcohol to be a drug though, when it's actually one of the worst drugs available. lol I don't think it should be illegal, personally, but it should be treated as a drug. I hate it when people get drunk as fuck, then they say "I don't smoke weed....drugs are bad". haha
yeah.. but 5mg of hydrocodone is 5mg of hydrocodone.. marijuana is not so simple.. you could be like "well it takes me 5 hits to get stoned" and smoke some heavy shit and be gone..
Well it's a damn good thing she can't do anything about that... Wait, your expecting her to pay for it aren't you? hahaha
But the effects of marijuana hit you within a few minutes, you know how stoned you're going to be within a few minutes of cessation of smoking
I know I hate to feed stereotypes but its pretty much true. I think today is the first time I've been sober in over a month. I've been spending a lot of time in the city though and most people I know there drink everyday in "the bumhole" its this place in some trees at a park and its the main drinking spot of the city...the ground is literally a layer of cans, bottles, and for a while last summer tin foil and needles when junkies were living there, i'll get some pics tomorrow As for driving high I wont do it unless im in a situation where I end up having to randomly drive after smoking but yeah its different for everyone. Whether it impairs some peoples driving skills or not its still irresponsible, no one can say it isnt. If some people can drive perfectly fine after smoking then go right ahead but its your own fault if you crash, even if its not your fault your insurance company wont be backing you up. That alone stops me from driving stoned
Precisely, you don't have to wait until you are in the car to decide you are too stoned, while you might take a pill and think you are fine 30min in only to find out that full effects don't kick in for an hour and then you are feeked.
Well I'm 1/4 Irish and I drink heavily, hell I'm drinking whiskey(bourbon whiskey anyways) right now, I don't even live in Ireland and I'm feeding the stereotype
Ah in fairness though most Americans are "1/4" Irish or at least claim to be...well a lot are though I spose
