I can't believe nobody named Bar 9 so far! This guy is a genius, he's making really agressive, dark grimey dubstep. I especially like his remix of Shove it, by The Deftones. Nero, Ed Rush and Optical, Excision, Datsik, Caspa, Ed Solo, Rusko, Dizzee Rascal... they're all on my list.

    I love dubstep! :hurray:

Dubstep is the shit! I first got into it with Bassnectar, then discovered Cookie Monsta, Benga, Datsik, and Substep Infrabass (which is some of the grimiest stuff I've heard!)

It's a totally underground kinda scene.

Cookie Monsta is awesome. DatsiK & Excision are pretty good. DZ, Skream, Rusko, Caspa, Emalkay, Broken Note, Distance, Nero, Chase & Status. All so good. Dubstep is probably my favourite music at the moment.

wow. you all listen to brostep. maybe you should post at brostepforums.com lol

    really aggressive dark grimey dubstep?

you mean like all the copycats of eachother plugging shitty samples and pushing the LFO oscillation rate till it sounds like a chainsaw?
BORING. cookie cutter shit like datsik don't impress. A lot of sample packs are reused and the same sounds in every track. recycled crap.

    LOL
Dubstep is about as underground right now as lady gaga. half the artists you named have been featured on a fabriclive or radio 1 broadcast.

we have 4 dubstep weeklies here, 3 monthlies and regular headliners coming through upscale nightclubs. Even some of the top 40/hip-hop djs drop a couple rusko tracks every now and then at bottle service venues. that's hardly what i call underground.
