didnt see this post till just now. i've eaten pot a few times recently, and gotten the dosages more specific to my particular needs (tolerance, quality of pot, etc.) usually my dosage, in a cookie or brownie, is about 1.5g, ground, put in the dough/batter prior to baking. and yes, i've tried eating raw bud. again, roughly 1.5g, ground finely, but raw. put on a peanut butter and honey sandwich....it was nasty, far less palatable than cookies or brownies. but it got me as high or higher than the cookies and such of similar dosages with similar quality cannabis gets me. it takes higher quantities of cannabis to get you high via oral consumption than it does if you're smoking, but you also get a very different high from a qualitative standpoint and it lasts far longer...i find the high more intense, more sedate, and far more physical, almost narcotic. to me, quite reminiscent of opiates though as distinct from them as from smoked or vaporized cannabis. the dosages are much higher when you eat them, but you are also high for about twice as long or more, and it is a very intense and pleasurable high, a nice change of pace if you have enough herb to afford to use it this way. i dont do it all the time but i find it a far better use of 1.5 grams of pot than a blunt to the dome.... if you have it, its a good way to enjoy it for a change of pace. one of my ideal highs, actually. but it does take a lot of pot, and you have to set aside several hours dedicated to lethargy. but in my experience if cooking it does anything at all, it loses canabinoids to vaporisation making it weaker. if anything. it certainly doesnt make it more orally active! sure, smoking makes the cannabinoids more readily absorbed and provides an immediate high, a pleasurable high, a good high...its my bread and butter, i have nothing against it...but eating brings on a whole different feeling for me, and i definitely dont think its a waste. and i personally think its just as efficient...strong, longer lasting....combustion, even if it causes chemical changes making the substances easier to absorb, does still destroy a noteworthy portion of the cannabinoids. eating raw bud destroys none.....100% absorbtion rate, even if its slower
btw the pot in question was middies....not great middies, not the wprst i've had though by any means.
^ weird. i ate a LOT of mids raw once and it didnt do squat. you can get REALLY high if you save that gram and a half for a firecracker... great way to get super high all day, and it only takes like 20 mins of your time to make.
Whats a firecracker? And nesta, a 100% absorption rate doesnt mean shit if its not at a good ratio with the half life of the active molecule. Getting high causes a peak in plasma concentration and if the drug absorbs at a rate which doesnt produce the correct peak concentration and at the right time and duration, the effects will not what the user desires There are formulas you can use to measure pharmacological effects quantitatively, and absorption rate is only one of the variables
By the way, Im not saying it didnt work for you. But thats the science as I know it, and personally I wouldnt want to eat raw bud regardless of how high it got me
I've got a friend who swears that he gets high after swollowing roaches. I tried and didn't think it worked for me but he swears by it.
a firecracker is two ritz crackers, peanut butter smeared on each one, and grinded up weed placed in the midddle of the two, makin kinda a peanut butter/weed sandwich in the middle. then u just wrap it in tinfoil, put it on a cookie sheet, and bake it in the oven bout 20-30 mins. the thc gets absorbed nicely by the peanutbutter, and if you use a gram or so of dank, you will get a ridiculous long lasting (like 6-7 hr) high. its a great way to eat a small amount of weed and get absolutely fucked all day... be warned; they taste like shit. i just shove the whole thing in my mouth, chew it up, and chase it down with some soda.
^ Oh ok cool thanks, Ive heard of that and will have to try it And havent you all heard of the placebo effect?
And what temp do you use? Thats cool as shit because I used to make ritz peanut butter sandwich things all the time
