this is what i've gotten so far. i'm about half done (the dreads are pulled back) sorry its blurry. my arms are weak and shakey from being up all day.
i know i'm gonna get shit for this...and i don't mean this offensively at all but, dreads are gross and ugly. dreadlocks and white people don't mix well. however, black men/women can pull it off very well. again, just my opinion.
well.. thanks for saying i look(ed) ugly and gross... how are they gross? my hair is/was just as clean as anyone elses. there aren't bugs in it (believe me, i've seen what comes out when i brush it, and its all clean stray hairs... just like when anyone else brushes their hair). it actually takes a lot more knowledge about hair to maintain dreadlocks than regular hair. i'd trust anyone with dreads to do my hair way before a person with regular hair. ignorance is gross, mushbead
ahaha.. we could go on a reality tv show so you can "become me" hahaha. actually, thatd just be freaky..
Some dreads are stinking, as is some non dreaded hair. Theres no way of getting eliteist about one being cleaner than the other, or one being better than the other, as it varies from head to head.
I wasn't being elitist. Nor did I say one is better than the other. One takes a lot more maintence, which means knowing a lot more about hair care than most people would think you need to know.
its all out!!! only took me .. 2 days. i had over 150!! eek. my scalp feels like its bleeding and my hair looks like crap (oh i want them back...). i'll take pictures tomorrow when i'm hopefully not in pain... so look forward to the new gallery of moi hahah
I was waiting for a reply. I know that it isn't physically disgusting on most people. I know one still washes their hair with dreadlocks, minus the conditioner. I have friends who have them. I didn't mean to say that you looked ugly/gross, I didn't think of it in that context. Because it does suit some people well. I personally would never have dreadlocks. I love my hairs. I don't really know how to say what I'm thinking without contradicting myself. I just don't like the trend. I don't know, I don't think they look that cool. But as I stated some people can pull it off. I mean it's a fashion thing in my opinion, everyone is entitled to what looks good. Trust me, my style wouldn't be too popular among the people who frequent here. I don't know. Ignorance is gross, I agree. But I do know quite a bit about dreadlocks. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to come off as a ****.
ah! i cant imagine having to cut my dreads off. id cry. theyre like my babies, hahah. theyve been with me for too long now. i do understand about the whole job thing though... i havent had a job in like.. uh.. well almost four years now! oh god thats sad. good luck though im sure youll look great w/or w/out them..
hahah.. when i got to the last one i almost cried and said "my last dreadie.. all my babies are gone!" it really is like losing a child. though HOPEFULLY i get a job SOON that allows dreads, cause my hair keeps trying to redread itself. and just so it doesnt appear that i'm ignoring mushbead, i responded to him in a pm.
