The crowd in Alexandria is marching towards a military station. Some in Cairo are apparently marching towards the royal palace. They're pretty angry.

I don't understand why Mubarack is staying, can someone please tell me why? What exactly is he getting out of this?

Either just love of power, or thinking he can manage to salvage some of his historical legacy by peacefully handing over power in free elections vs being deposed of.

The V.P of Egypt just gave a speech telling the people not to listen to outside news sources because they try to smear the reputation of those in power and the events taking place.

because those in power have great reputations...

Cairo is going to burn, dude literally told these people to go home and not listen to foreign news. I really think Mubarak and whats left of his allies have literally gone deaf and blind.

Seriously, that's what I was thinking. People were saying that he's just not listening. As you said, both Mubarack and the other guy's speeches were basically, "Go home and be quiet, don't watch tv and wait for September."

Egypt and the world essentially just got punked. I think Mubarak is purposely trying to piss off the protesters so they turn violent so he can try to use the police to crack down in a bloody way on them.

If that happened though, I think it'd work out in favor of the protesters. The military itself I think just got played for fools, they made it seem like Mubarak was going to stand down, and they were going to take joint rule with the VP, they announced this and I think actually believed it...........then they were met with this. I think Mubarak has basically lost any military support he could ever hope for, they're not even stopping near homicidal protesters from marching on the presidential palace. If Mubarak doesn't step down and leave the country, and soon, I could see a military coup.

Bingo! He's either trying to piss people off enough to make them start burning shit and get violent, at which point he'll have the green light to start cracking skulls, or he's trying to get the people to turn on the military by having them tell the people that he was going to step down, at which point the people would/will have absolutely no one to turn to anymore, thus giving Mubarack power again.

Some people on Al Jazeera were saying that Mubarack is psychologically ill and that he thinks he's doing his duty to those who have faith in him.

He is 82 going on 83 and has had health problems, being psychologically ill isn't out of the question.

It only took 17 days for people to get what they want. :)

    That's not long at all.

Some Swiss banks are telling other banks to freeze any and all assets that they think might "belong" to Mubarack. The money hopefully, prospectively, will be returned to Egypt.

I honestly hope this works out for the Egyptians. But I'm skeptical. Even more so when I read stuff like this. It tells me that things will just end up being "status quo"

You say fuck it to the science and hunt down the bastards, like the diseased animals that they are, and make them face justice for their crimes against humanity.

As it would appear a bunch of our posts have managed to "disappear." (Way to go freedom of speech.) I will just say that your backing out of the question I had put before you on the grounds of moral indignation doesn't surprise me. (Any excuse will do huh?)

I used to believe there was only 2 types of monsters in this world.

    1) The monster that seeks to inflict suffering on others for its own selfish agenda.
    2) The monsters that do the bidding of the previous mentioned monsters.

However, I have learned that there is a 3rd type of monster in this world. Far more vile and putrid than the previous 2 put together.

    3) The human garbage that watches suffering inflicted on others and not only does nothing to stop it; but adds to the indignity of the situation by trivializing it through discussing the event as nothing more than a "curious topic of interest." All the while believing they have some how done something positive.

Kind of like the human maggot that witness a rape in progress and does nothing to stop it or to help rectify the injustice afterwards. Instead they go home and blog about it on Facebook or gossip with their friends.

I will admit that my personal opinion is the world would be better and happier place to live without an Internet. Therefore let me say that I'm aware of the irony that I'm trying to reach and motivate people through the Internet. But that is because I don't have any other method of trying to reach the people addicted to this shit.

    Because if I could,
I would get a baseball bat and go to the homes/offices/schools/coffee shops of everyone logged in. I would gladly break the computers and kick the users in the ass. While screaming,

"Get the fuck out from behind the screen let the sun shine on you!"
"Go play ball in the park or something."
"Go get someone to play with your genitals for REAL without the use of a webcam."
