Yes, and that's your country's problem. This country was founded on people being able to do whatever the hell they want and the whole idea of individualism, forcing people to do that is the ultimate anti-america idea. Plus the fact education has always been long locally controlled, like the town next to me has to do that, but we didn't. Plus the fact, this isn't volunteering, make a bunch of 16 year olds do stupid shit they don't want to, like that's really effective and like they'll ever get the urge to actually volunteer in the literal sense.

If people want to do community service for 1-2 years to g et college paid for, I'm all for that. But people shouldn't be forced to.

 

Yes it is effective, because they'd be volounteering then. They dont care if your ever going to do it later on in life. As long as you do it when your supposed to.

 

My old high school forces 40 hours of community service to graduate already. its not an uncommon thing. lots of schools in my area do it.

now i know someone who has Q clearance...the highest that i know of...been to area 51 and everything. In order for this person to gain clearance they had to be scrutinized to the last details. I'm talking about interviewing everyone, down to his/her best friend in kindergarten.

Since he has come in contact with KNOWN terrorists and has all kinds of Muslim ties..how can Obama be cleared to be commander n chief ?? If the person that I know had even talked to any one of the people Obama has, then their clearance would be FUCKED.

I feel that when an election year comes around everyone has to take sides. I think it would be better if if was not just the Dems and the Pubs, I want to see an election where anyone can put their hat in and anyone can become President. Hell, at this point I think that a national lottery would be better. Then Joe the plumber can be president or my mom, who knows. Being more on the moderate side (not really a side) I often find things on both sides that I like. I still am not really sure who I want to vote for and I have wighed all the pros and cons. If I thought that Obama could make everything he is saying come true I might vote for him. I just don't think he can do it. On the other hand McCain is the person with the best experience and knowledge. The worst thing going for Obama right now is the fact that he is a lawyer. I hate all lawyers and taxi cab drivers. Now everyone is all over Palin and you have to think about it. Palin has more excutive experience then Obama, McCain and Biden. She is the Governor of her state, that is like being president. So, you can't say she does not have the experience. That was the main reason for bringing in Biden was because of his experience. It is just like Bush and his sidekick. They brought him in as the experience guy. Whatever. I hate all polliticians.
