most if not all nations engage in political, economic and military strategies that result in the deaths of children - most if not all citizens of those nations pay for and benefit from those strategies mother theresa befriended the dictator jean-claude duvalier, and denied her terminally ill patients proper diagnosis and even the use of pain relief medications, not to mention the choice of end-of-life termination who are the baby killers? who are the saints?
And for you they are all the same? Worthy of the same respect, consideration, all to have the same rights, none to be looked down upon in any way? Judged in no way by you?
It seems to be a myth these days, but I believe that this ideal is something we all will chase for into the future. Hopefully one day this ideal will become a reality.
Who's qualified to judge anyone else? I cannot speak for Ghandi's Flea, but for myself- until I reach a point of personal perfection then I'm disqualified to assume the role of judging anyone else. One day I just MIGHT attain the status of flea.
i judge only myself - for example, as oil is used to produce and transport the very food i eat, i am a baby killer all pretenses to being a flea aside . . .
with our lifestyle we first kill nature, plants, animals then we kill our own people, the future of mankind then we kill other countries
Everyone of us may be fleas... very few are willing to recognize that. On topic... I could say we are equal only in the fact that inequality is universal... but the measures of inequality are not doled out equally either. As alluded to by the quoted post, by participating in an economic system that exploits some for its own advantage and to the detriment of many, we are guilty of encouraging that exploitation by rewarding it with our money- doing our part to keep it profitable.... and I'm just as guilty as the next person. I'd further postulate that anyone in a position to participate online in this discussion does not have clean hands either. I see the concept of equality as being a political tool to manipulate the masses- distracting them by highlighting divisions in their own numbers to furnish cover that enables those in power to deepen the inequalities between themselves and the general public- who they most likely look upon in the same manner we all look upon a herd of cattle to be carved into cuts of meat and sold for profit. Accepting their rhetoric on the premise that they have the slightest bit of concern for us proves to me that we as a whole are not their intellectual equals. Do beings who are inherently unequal deserve equal rights? I believe there are no inherent rights if those who would benefit from them are unwilling to fight for them.
And yet those who do not chase the money aren't as dumb as those who chase it. But that's ok because you judge only yourself.
It would appear that those without money possess a great deal of want. Would that not indicate that they are even more stupid than those who have it? Most everything I find given attention in these forums is based on class envy.
I agree with Individual. Further, I find that many posts which include expression of dissatisfaction, contempt, or complaint regarding the current “system” (for lack of better term) seem to also include or strongly imply blame or responsibility of others for hardship or lack of prosperity or success. It appears that “equal rights” is no longer enough for many – that “equal results” must also be guaranteed. One might imagine a group of runners, all having the same resources, i.e. time, coaching, facilities, diet, etc. available in preparation for a race. The choice of how to use the available resources is left to each individual runner. During the race one runner outdistances the others. Should the lead runner be expected to slow down or stop so that others may catch up? Should the lead runner change into heavier shoes so that more effort must be expended to maintain the lead? Should the race end in a group tie – all participants getting the same award, regardless of individual effort either in preparation for or during the race? Or, should even those choosing not to race receive an award for their participation? “Why even have the race?” is a question legitimately asked by the runners when their awards are distributed equally amongst themselves and those choosing not to participate in or support the event.
The problem is no one starts the race with the same resources. The lead runner is a mile ahead in a 2 mile race. Some of these people are born into complete and total helplessness. Humbled at the mercy of their boss, their paycheck and how much the government needs to bail out bad bets and poor spending policies. There is no envy, believe me I don't want all of the money they have. I don't really hate on them for having everything or care when people call my opinions 'whining'. I mostly hate the process that is just making it easier for them. They have an OBVIOUS advantage, yet they boast 'equal rights' and 'everyone has a shot'. The fact that so many people use the 'finish line' analogy is kind of mind boggling to me. I'm not siding with the 'Why even have the race' side, I'm siding with the 'Why is it even looked at as a race' side. Why is it that the people with the most toys are considered the winners, or whoever gets the most quickest. I participate, I'm a fucking janitor. It pays like shit and I clean up after elders who cant even remember the mess they made. Each one of these people is too mentally aged or physically weak to take care of themselves. That's what I love about working there though. Each one of them, near the end of their road they become more and more alike. Its like a playground, just as when they were children. We're all the same truthfully. As children or as elders. I see a middle aged man with 5 sports cars and a house that costs more than I could imagine as a child with his toys and toy box. True immaturity at its best. They can afford not to grow up and mature mentally. I see a goal of massive amounts of money as nothing more than a mental scheme to make ones self feel better in comparison to their 'less fortunate counterpart peasants'. Like I said my main problem with this issue is that they boast equal rights. Yet 98% of the population has less and less money. Its pooling into their pockets like when a leg breaks the wrong way and the blood pools on the inside. The way they make their money is now corrupt with 'incentives', 'subsidies' and 'bailouts'. The system they use has broken in their temporary favor. They are guaranteed money if they fail, using jobs of REAL people as hostage(s). I'm not saying 'everyone should finish in a tie'. I'm just saying that if we're going to boast this 'reality' of 'equal' rights, then it should look like 98% Of the people trying, not 98% of the people having no chance at all of even coming close within their lifetime.
