Everybody's Doing A Brand New Chat, Now!

It's easy to beat a team once. Doing it a few times shows you were really better. But no doubt it makes more money and creates more excitement to have multi-game series.

 

Daytona is completely different to Indianapolis. Both the same length, 2.5 miles. One is a D shaped oval where pack racing is permanent, the other is a rectangle where the field splits up. While an underdog could easily have the potential to win at Daytona, the underdog will be several laps down at Indianapolis in their equipment. Daytona puts everybody on an even playing field for 2x races a year. There's not one track on the NASCAR schedule that's the same. They may look the same but they don't race the same. Secondly, when they repeat a track in the opposite season, to our naked eye it still looks the same, but they won't race the same at all. A lot of this comes straight down to weather. Hotter temperatures = no grip, cold temps = more grip. Laps are slower in summer than they are in winter, but the the cars are more fun to watch in summer than winter because the lack of grip creates slides and handling issues.

An NHL venue is an NHL venue. I know baseball stadiums differ from size and features, but I don't really get what you're trying to argue with me for?

I just personally feel that "it's any given day" that's one day. You beat an opponent in one game, not over an entire week or more. If you aren't beating the other team on the ladder, tough shit you get the away game. You don't win? Tough shit you're out. That's playoffs for you.

That's my preference for finals and playoffs. Pretty much what the NFL does. And yes you're right, I'm a football fan first over any of the other ball and puck sports in America. I believe if the NHL was as regarded as high as the NFL, I'd be the opposite. More games = more opportunities to watch my team play and compete.

 

Although many hate on the NASCAR playoffs, and I'd have watched my hero Jeff Gordon earn at least 3 more championships under the old systems that made Earnhardt so great, I actually really think the Chase system works. But it's all different tracks. You don't race same track twice in there. You get a bit of everything except a road course atm. And one will come in 4 years I think.

Correct squirrel. There is no argument. Just taking what she said to the opposite extreme. Just have one race a year to decide the champion. All those different races seem so unnecessary.
In other news you didn't suck me in to the topic. I wait for any sports to be discussed in the SL. You can talk about ping-pong and I would join in...the fact that the pens just won made it more enjoyable.
Also there is a difference in ice rinks. They are different sizes in diffent cities. It is only american football that has the same size field no matter where you play.

 

yeah, I've learned what things/situations will get Buddy fired up, and cyclist is one of them, combine a cyclist with a running dog and he goes bonkers....LOL\

Buddy has nipped at a few folks, almost always riding a bike, skateboard or something and just as they get past him, he turns and nips them in the ass, or tries to.
So now I do the same thing you do, stop (he stops by himself now when we see another big dog !) and make him stand in between my legs as they go past.
He has really come a long way recently and now shows almost no concern or interest in other dogs as long as they are not barking at him or something.
but he has been on some kind of mission concerning cats for the last month or so and if he sees one, it's arm pulled out of socket and back wrenched again.

went to the vet recently, Buddy put on a few pounds and is now 94.5lbs, mostly muscle, so when he really wants to go after something, I'm gettin' my exercise for sure...LOL

 

some moron works at a weed shop in Toronto went on the news and said he touched his eye while handling concentrates and his eye became red and swollen and now he is warning of the dangers of being allergic to weed....they even got a hundred year old doctor to say yes it is an allergic reaction

trichromes in the eye just off a weed plant sting like a bitch and if you get enough in your eye it can swell up temporarily....they tell you never touch your eye when trimming weed....obviously goes x50 for bho and shatter

 

Only thing to do it ban it. I mean we can't depend on people to have half a brain can we and not stick things in their eye.

 

I just stuck my toe in my eye to see if I could do it.. now, I might be blinded for life..

 

that isn't a such an accomplishment....didn't you say once your toes are 12 inches long?

Just got back from a walk with Buddy. walking along some lady walks out of her house to her car smoking a cig. next I hear a big dog barking from her house and Buddy and I stop.
I ask her "is your dog secured?" she says "yeah, it's fine" so we go walking along, get halfway past her driveway and i look up to see her fucking big ole' hound, must've weighed 110lbs+ come charging out of the house at us.
Luckily Buddy didn't notice yet and I got him a few feet further along, when he did notice, well let's just say I got my workout for the night.
Can't blame Buddy though, what ya gonna do when someone is charging at you barking? you charge back!

but seriously bitch! Do you not understand what SECURED means!!??
thank god her dog obeyed her and Buddy obeyed me and both stopped aggression when commanded and went about their business, but not before yanking my arm and back out of whack...AGAIN!

then we ran into the morons who walk their little rat dogs off a leash...GRRRRR. next time one of them charges me it's either gonna get punted across the street or Buddy will have a new chew toy!

 

I find pit bull type dogs always don't look like they're happy. When we walked out boy in the evening there was a young black pit bull looking thing. Owner had to sit it down and say "it's ok" to it when we walked past of course Atreyú was like foaming at the mouth but he wasn't that interested in it.

But yeah. I find those kinda dogs always look timid and not too happy while my dog has his tongue out living life as he trots along.

 

This is how I feel about NASCAR. Why can't they just go around once and be done with it already?
