Most of the greens candidates were volunteers, thats probobly why but with a guy in every riding, then they could get more percentage of the vote, and then have a better chance of getting the buck 75 per vote [and if someone got elected, that would just be a plus]
I've been looking into the Green Party, and I have found (according to their website) that a lot of their platforms are in line with what I believe. They have a lot of interesting ideas, but when I read them, I think to myself, "Are these feasable" Check it out: http://www.greenparty.ca/index.html Here is a summary of their principles http://www.greenparty.ca/greenvalues.html~&MMN_position=115:3.html
The Green Party couldn't work better for the Liberals and Conservatives if they'd planned it - ie: splitting the Left vote. In the last BC Provincial election, NDP would have a majority if not for the Green Party.
The 3 biggest ridings in the country are the Yukon, Northwest Terrirtories and Nunavut (at one riding apiece). Following that I believe are ridings in the north of Ontario, Quebec, and Manitoba. Then the Skeena riding in BC. 300 Miles is nothing.
I don't see that as any reason to not stand up for the party I believe in. I already know they won't get in power in this election. I'm still gonna support what I think is right. I think we're fucked if ANY other party gets in power, so we're fucked no matter what. At least I'll have a healthy conscience when the shit hits the fan. And speaking in terms of left and right sounds pretty manipulative to me in the first place. This is not supposed to be a one dimensional scale to vote on. If the conservatives fall on the right of the x axis and the liberals on the left of the x axis, then you have green on the y axis, and further, you have the communists falling off on the yz axes and so on. It's not black and white dude, and it's not necessarily about today, or this election. Who cares if the conservatives even win. It wont take long for them to fall flat on their face. I have too much faith in the will of Canadians to react to whats right, what's good for everyone, and what's good for us in the long term. One day, it'll work out.
