People go on about mind expansion, i never really expand it much, i usualy just get stuck staring in a mirror.
Well, everyone has their own trip. Sure the sensory effects are different, but drugs enlighten people if used appropriately. People do not have the same stories to tell...because the enlightening part cannot possibly be explained in words. It can, however, be expressed through art, which is the best way to do it...
Drugs never expanded my mind, just made me become attached to negatve thoughts, ina way closing my mind.
all drugs do is create a different reality.....they do nothing to furthur understanding of the true reality
apapa, but it can make you understand yourself better, or even society. One guy I talked to told me this: one trip (LSD) by myself i totally realized my potential related to my goals and aspirations and shit, and got myself totally charged up on getting into machining, and that week i went and applied for a course, and got in right away, and now im 2nd year CNC machinist And he's not alone.
I've heard LSD has similar effects to schizophrenia. Being schizophrenic myself, I say no... It doesn't...
ahaha, and believe me...schizos think they're enlightened...or at least my mom did... she's stopped taking her meds for a couple years, and last i heard she thought she was the "incarnation of jesus christ"... it's rather quite sad.
Believed rather similar at one point. I was a messiah. I don't think I'm enlightened though. I think rather the opposite... People hate me, all that shit.
synaptic aether, i like you. spooner... cheer up, please, and have a little more respect for other people's beliefs. it'll make them appreciate yours more. one thing i'd like to add: drugs don't put any new thoughts or images or ideas into your head. a hallucination is not a movie projected from your eyes, and the drug is not a film waiting to be played. all of it is already singing inside you, and psychadelics only act as a microphone to see the songs you can't hear.
if i get it from anyone... i get it from Terrance Mcenna, Robert Anton Wilson or even Timothy Leary... or maybe Descartes "I concluded that I might take as a general rule the principle that all things which we very clearly and obviously conceive are true: only observing, however, that there is some difficulty in rightly determining the objects which we distinctly conceive." Discours de la Méthode while buddhism does go into the existance of reality (lol) n stuff, there are far better sources of exploration of these ideas. Buddhist are all about it because, for the most part, as far as i can tell, they know what's up. though i'm not really a fan of buddhism. [edit:] i dunno why i assumed that you were saying anything about "getting it" from somewhere... i guess i didn't understand your statement. all i'm doing is explaining what i think makes the moste sense. if one choses to give this clump of thought a name ("pseudo-buddhist"), i'm ok with that.
CNC Machinists suck! they have taken the jobs of most of the manual machinists, lost my job over a computer operated machine... DAMN COMPUTERS
Drugs dont reveal things that arent there. please give some backing statement for that comment psychedelics just create things that arent i.e. the definition of hallucinagens
i'm not sure if this was directed to me... but i'll answer anyway. it all happens in your mind. you can't just be handed a pill/whatever and told "this will make you see an orange monster with green spots and he'll tell you that the universe is a teacup". it's inside of YOU, it's reactions in YOUR brain, and it's YOUR thoughts. there are all kinds of crazy switches and buttons to be pushed in your mind.
its something that modifies your brain, it creates things that arent there. It is inside of you, but only because the entire chemistry of your brain has been decimated, throwing millions of years of evolution out the window. The fact that its your brain is irrelevant to the discussion, which is about the nature of psychedelic drugs to have halucinagenic properties.
wow... you really like to argue, don't you? ...ok... drugs don't "modify your brain". that's all i have to say about that. and telling someone your beliefs is not disrespecting theirs. making fun of them, and telling yours in a condescending way is.
I'd have to say i'm on Prismatism's side for this one. Everything you 'see' while your on a certain drug is all your imagination. Your just looking at things differently, analyzing them more, maybe less. Kinda like those 3-d glasses ... you look at a flat image (your world) - it's flat, red and blue. Put on some magical 3-d glasses (drugs) and BAM it's jumping out at you from all corners of the page. You just realize what was always there, but you were ignoring. I suggest we all go cop a nice buzz this afternoon.
Yeah, I know what you mean... then it's $60.00 for an hour of programming labor... and then labor ontop of that, etc. more bullshit costs. I know someone who ordered spacers for their Beretta's buttrest (gun stock). Ended up costing them $200 dollars just for a few pieces of metal through somebody else. Though, they have their own CNC machine and the guy's dad is a welder/fabricator for Virginia/Dominion Power...
