christianity is really none of my bussiness, so if you're offended by my poking my nose in here i won't blame you. but stumling accross this i just have to point out that there's one minor little problem with "fulfilled prophesies" being proof of anything. that is that no mater what happens, something can always be found that appears to have predicted it. i'm not suggesting this disproves anything either, only questioning the notion of any such thing as any proof being irrifutable. =^^= .../\...
I stand by my logic. The book, the bible, specifically the NT, is one book. It has many chapters, but it is one book. Now, if there was one, single, solitary, lone, unique, contemporary to the life of Jesus, yet, non-NT record of ANY of those NT characters I have twice listed, please illuminate me. The rest of it, you lost me somewhere.
As I have said in my last post, ministers in the 1600s and in the 1800s stated that based on the prophecies of the Bible, the Jews will return to Israel. They said they were not sure how this would happen, but it would. They said not only would they return to the land of Israel, but they would also be in control of Jerusalem. They also said Israel would be surrounded by enemies who would eventually try to retake Jerusalem by force. They said all of this would have to take place first, before the return of Jesus Christ. WHAT THESE MINISTERS HAVE STATED, ARE BASED ON THE PROPHECIES OF THE BIBLE, AND THESE PROPHECIES DONOT JUST APPEAR TO BE HAPPENING, THEY ARE HAPPENING. And there are many more prophecies in the Bible that are comming to pass as well, and most of them are happing under this worlds radar.
If the Old Testament was authored by God and is fill with hundreds of prophecies, then there would have to be a Book that would agree with the Old Testament and mirrors those prophecies. That Book, and it is the only one on earth, is the New Testament. Jesus Christ did fulfill the three hundred prophecies of the Old Testament. The prophecies of these two Books are the glue, and the proof of their inspired truth. Everything the Bible has stated about the end of time is occuring. The Bible did not luck out about the events taking place in Israel, the Bible was right, because the God that authored these Books knew the future, and He had that future information written down, so others could see. The Bible knew that in the end, powerful nations will try to take Israel by force. This is why we see storm clouds gathering in the Middle East. This is why you see Iran working on Nuclear Weapons. This is why Irans President is telling the world that Israel should be wiped off the face of the earth. And this is why the Bible tells us, that in the last days perlious times will come. The Bible is telling you the truth, is anyone listening?
Sorry, I did not mean to say I stand by 'my logic' but I was agreeing that sums up BG13s position and I agree that describes his position: My bad.. i forget sometimes the text-based internet does not communicate sighs and inflection very well and I was intending to say "Yes.. sadly that does sum up what you are left with"
