funny that when repub post web sites you people are like "I want proof that the sites are legit" On the other hand Revo said "I can think of a few websites that show torn limbs from little babies". Do you think every site YOU find is true and legit? Personally I don't believe most of the stuff I see on TV or read on the net. Republican, I would vote for Powell any day. I hope he takes off the next 4 years so he can prepare to run in the next election. Bob<---wishes we could live without politicians
Argh Republican. I just wanted to let you know that it is not a "we" when you say "We dont kill civilians" blab blah. There is no We, you dont exist to the American goverment, and you are nothing special. Your just a number (social security #) thats all. Also when you watch those football games of yours on TV there is no "We won so and so". It is they, and you had no part in it. So you rather have people not protest, and put our trust in the goverment?? Those rich guys with ulterior motives who dont really see us as people. Open your eyes. Things are getting bad in this country with its over consumerism, closeminded, and machine like ways. We must protest before we turn into a piece of shit! Its people like us Americans to remove the wool from there eyes and really see what is going on! Everyday they take away or freedoms, and tell us it is for the better. Everyday people are struggling on the streets to live in our country, and we go to Iraq to liberate them! Liberate your mind! I recommend something crazy for you if you have the heart enough to do it. Go into the forest and 2 grams of psilocybin mushrooms and then we will talk.
Believe me, I am defintiely NOT a Kerry supporter. I think the guy is as much of a scumbag as Cheney himself...worse actually, because he disguises himself as a "servant of the less fortunate". I am not a "liberal". I don't particularly like liberals because they are phoney talkers who never put translate their words into actions. "Republican", from the way you speak, you seem like a pretty nice dude. I'm sorry for jumping all over you, but it's very important that you learn to see things from all sides...I'm glad you're going to watch the movie and I'm looking forward to hearing your views on it.
Uh oh we got a brain trust here. He's a 10th grader, now I'm shittin in my pants, but then being smarter makes you feel better right? Besides you don't have to be smart to know that a person who brags as much as you do is most likely full of shit.
Care to elaborate on how we never translate our words into actions? Wait, wait, wait, he belittles and demeans you, basically calls you dumb and brags about his supposed achievements and you're apologizing? Jesus H. Christ, have some dignity. Republican is so obviously full of shit with his picture perfect All American boy image he skillfully painted, and then says "Well, I'm so fucking smart I don't have to worry about spelling correctly" and you apologize to this bullshitter? Now that's just absolutely sad.
I know, I'm not apologizing for anything other than calling him names LOL I still think that he's a brainwashed drone who goes through life according to the "principles" of his authority figures actually believing that he's thinking for himself. When I say that I don't like "liberals", I'm speaking as (what some call) a "radical". I adhere to the philosophies of Abbie Hoffman, the Diggers, Mumia Abu Jamal, Leonard Peltier, etc. My views can be categorized as "anarchist". I believe that both major parties are corporate parties. They both represent war, militarism, corporate dominance and globalization, repression of the working class and poor, and represent only a tiny fraction of the world's population. I voted for Nader in 2000, and (if) I choose to vote again, it'll again be for Nader NOT because I think he has a remote possibility of winning (he doesn't) but purely out of principle because I like the guy.
Fahrenheit 9/11 Turns Up the Heat Revolutionary Worker #1245, July 4, 2004, posted at http://rwor.org The RW received the following correspondence. I went to Fahrenheit 9/11with a bunch of people who knew each other from work--and there was some real excitement in the air. People had been looking forward to this, talking about it, wondering what they would see, and more: hoping that this film would really help change the direction of things. And when we got to the theater, that feeling was in the long lines waiting to get in. It was a real event. As I sat down, the guy next to me said, "glad to meet you, glad to see all of us, here, together, on this thing." "This thing" is exposing the government--and the Bush crew that runs it. Exposing the war in Iraq, the Patriot Act, the stealing of the 2000 election, the worship of the rich, the corruption in high places, and the lies-- above all the LIES, that have now been used to conquer countries, send young men and women to kill and die, and cynically keep millions of people in a manipulated "state of alert." Fahrenheit 9/11 is hilarious, and savage, and (despite the howls of rightwing attack dogs) overwhelmingly factual. People are sick--to death!--of being muzzled, stifled and gagged. And in this onscreen rush of images and sound, there is a feeling that the cork has been popped. It's like an opening shot to this heated, politicized, dangerous and oh-so-crucial summer. If you saw Bowling for Columbine you know Michael Moore's scattergun film-making technique--the video snips, the ambush interviews with powerful people, the heart-to-heart with working people in Flint, the sudden comic animation, and the raw satirical juxtaposition of words and images--it is all here. And it is refreshing to see. ...continue this article @ http://rwor.org/a/1245/fahrenheit_911_moore_movie_review.htm
RevoMystic is not being pathetic for responding to Republican that way. He is being compassionate, and avoiding ego. What he said was true, and right.
No action by liberals??? How about naming the last liberal President? How many liberal Governors do we have? It takes support to gain office, and liberals just don't have it. It's all talk and no action. A protest is not going to change things like it did 30+ years ago. It seems like evey time Liberal politicians start to climb the ladder they join the Democrats. No longer liberal in my eyes. Here we go with the 2000 election crap again. In 1998 FL voted Jeb Bush(Republican) into office as Governor. 2 years later the media was calling Gore the winner of FL before 10% of its votes were counted. The same media Moore tells us are trying to make us live in fear. The media made a big mistake and it showed later in that evening. The hangging chads, and people not understanding where to mark would not have changed the results of the election. I've heard it all, his brother got them to swing the count his way, his ties with the CIA, blah blah blah. With all that said and so many americans thinking the election was rigged in FL, why in 2002 was Jeb Bush elected to a second term as Governor of FL? Could it be that FL is a Republican state, and the did vote for Jeb, and George? Vote for who you think will run the country the best, but don't be the one bitching when you don't win the election. Just get off your ass and vote. Bob<---my vote counted in FL
I saw Fahrenheit 9/11 as soon as I could--Monday afternoon. I had to go 66 miles to see it, but it was well worth it. The movie was thought-provoking and entertaining. I went into it bound and determined to vote for Kerry in November, and now I'm bound and determined to vote for Kerry in November and to make a generous donation to his campaign and to do anything else I can to help unseat Bush. I couldn't find any facts that I would dispute in Fahrenheit 9/11. The people who are so loud and angry about the film don't seem to be able to point to any inaccuracies. Yes, there's editorializing but it's nothing more intense than you'd find in arch-conservative media outlets such as the Wall Street Journal or Fox News.
would you be expecting airplanes to be hijacked and flown into buildings? yes, there was a breifing about it that was given to the president, but even if you knew something was going to happen involving airplanes, you you really expect them to crash them into a major building? To those of us who aren't paid a six-figure salary to study this stuff all day every day year after year, it was a real shock. Not to the experts, however. The Gore Commission report did warn that an attack using hijacked airplanes was an eventual probability, and it named the World Trade Center buildings, specifically, as a likely target. But it's not like anyone- ANYONE- cares at all about terrorism. We're STILL buying Saudi oil. That pretty much wipes out EVERY argument made that Bush is doing ANY damn useful thing about terrorism.
I sldo thought it was good of Michael Moore to include pro-Bush material in the movie as well, so that both sides could be heard. The segment promoting the pro-war and pro-Bush view (it consisted of Britney Spears saying we should just turn off our minds and trust the president) was a good chuckle, and summarized the typical Bush supporter point of view with extreme completeness and accuracy.
And in the process is boosting Republican's ego. I just didn't think he owed him an apology, but his explanation was good.
I couldn't agree more. And I'm sorry if calling you pathetic was a bit harsh, I was just pissed at how he was bragging and bullshitting. Yeah, kids Republican's age don't have minds of their own.
I would hope my mind was my own.... I don't own very much... it's kinda one of the few things that is really mine.... but, oh nevermind i totally forgot. ooops. It may not be a good mind, but it is my own and I shall hold on to it!
It is better than Oliver Stone's movie, "Born on the Fourth of July". Michael Moore shows the temperature where freedom burns! http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0361596/combined Perhaps the most damaging footage shows Bush on September 11, sitting in a Florida classroom for a full seven minutes after he had been told that the second tower had been struck, and that it was clear the horrific events in New York were a terrorist attack, not a tragic accident. Moore lets this moment go on and on: The president, stone-faced in front of dozens of schoolchildren, doing absolutely nothing, as our nation comes under attack. Hopefully, this scene will take away the "war president" lie. The never-elected punk isn't qualified to referee a cock-fight, much less lead the world in a war against Al Qaeda.
