Failbook

I hate failbook, and myspace! I would never have an account!
What really pisses me off is, I have a stupid psychotic ex girlfriend who made a myspace profile of me when we were together. And this was done without my permission. Whats really fucked up is, she still maintains it, and it's been five years since we even talked. I have tried to get the account deleted but the webmaster will not do it since I can't give the password. Fucking bullshit!

 

I have one. I can talk to old friends there. Family too; if I feel like it.

Realize that I don't really have a phone. And hate email.

It has helped in certain instances of community organizing [of a sort] as well.

It's just a tool; I like it as much as I would a hammer.

 

I don't have one, some 'tool's are annoying and this seems to be one of them Furthermore I have too little use for it.

 

i got it way back when it was new and only college students were allowed to have one, and then i just never really had a reason to get rid of it. i don't really use it for anything, but i'm kind of a nosy person so it's occasionally interesting to see what old friends are up to these days.

 

I use it to be nosey because I have nothing better to do with my time.....and I'm addicted to the games. I have my facebook account settings set so that no one can search for me or find me. I don't even have the correct information listed on my account and I always delete my cookies and browsing history before visiting another website...especially this one

 

wait, if you have a facebook they can follow what other sites you go into as well??? even if you log out? I just got my laptop last year so please tell me cos sometimes i look at porn, omg will that come up? :\

 

Ummm don't you talk about your private life and views on here? How is this no different than facebook (no offense skip), or rather what makes the HF soap box and different than a facebook soap box?! Tea kettle calling the pot black

 

Yes... Facebook tracks you anywhere you go on the web.

 

I think the subtile differences are worth it otherwise I wouldn't be on here obviously :2thumbsup:

Not if you delete your fb cookies each time you logout/leave your fb page - it's pretty easy to stop facebook tracking. Now google, that's a bit different.

 

you get on the internet and you are tracked. You buy something in store and don't use cash you are tracked. You walk into a mall any you are tracked.
I like facebook cuz I have a lot of real friends I like to talk too

It's different if you don't show your face here. Law enforcement people could find out my real name if they wanted to, but people I work with can't. So I feel much better about posting things here that would be socially controversial on FB.

I only lurk on FB - no posts.

 

i have one, just for the sake of having one ... i dont post anything, or give a fuck about anything other people post...

but i have to admit it was nice when i found some old friends on it ... you know, not that we started doing stuff together again, but some friends, its just good knowing theyre still alive...
