columbus is a bit cooler as far as city dwelling is concerned. cleveland has a bit more to do. cincy is closer to other cities. the country side, well columbus has nothing. cleveland has parks cincy is closer to forests.

I'm from Northern Kentucky, which is right across the river from Cinci.
Cincinnati is ok. The hills and everywhere around Cincy is beautiful, and even though most of the people south of Cincy are close minded, they are generally very friendly.

Once upon a time I stood downtown Cincinnti, flying this sign.... Standing out here, so my kids don't have to, Facing adviction, everything helps. It was January and below 10 degrees. For 5 hours I was passed by, either ignored or dismissed. I gave it up for the day and started walking home nd this elderly lady stopped and picked me up when she saw me heading for the bridge to NKY. Not only did this woman give me curb side service to my pad she gifted my family $500 dollars.
Take from that what you will.
I love Cincinnati, lived there most of my life. Like everything there is good and bad. And though I love Cincinnati, I chose not to live there full time. However, I love to visit.

I've lived in toledo, athens, cleveland, nelsonville and columbus.

Toledo - have to be from there to appreciate it.

Athens - beautiful scenery and people. No jobs and an occasionally overwhelming frat population (Ohio University). Nice scene if you take the time to get to know the right people.

nelsonville - wonderfully quaint. Perfect size for the community vibe. able to know everyone. Nice "hip" counterpart to the athens scene up the road. Beware of the rebel flag/nascar crowd. Beautiful people in their own way, just slightly confrontational when dealing with "long-hairs".

Cleveland - Coventry is at times exciting (cleveland heights). Lots of crime and social strife. xtreme amounts of cultural diversity (not racial or ethnic, but rather attitude/style) make it choatic at times.

columbus - very plastic and manufactured. Lacks the character of Ohio's old-school factory towns (cleveland, cinncy, toledo). Choice between OSU keg parties, family life and the occassional quality show.

If you need to know anything about the specifics, just ask. Hope this helps. I'm very Ohio.

Im in/around cleveland all the time. Its deff not a good city to live in, its like the poorest city in america. But theres tons of stuff to do. I wouldnt reccomend living in cleveland tho.

Live near Cleveland now. Grew up here, and came back. Lived in Columbus for a number of years. Columbus is much safer, but I missed the ethnic diversity of Cleveland. Also missed the feeling of living on the edge. You never know whether Cleveland will still be here in the morning.
