    What have been the results of fasting according to medical research? For all we know, people could be starving themselves for nothing.

    Naw, it's not like that at all. It's not a chore. Think of fasting the same way you think of a workout. It feels great. It makes you feel clean inside & out. Whether or not it increases my lifespan, I don't really care. I think the scientists are too hung up on numbers to realize that it just makes you feel better. No research required.

    fasting is ver different from starving. usually a fast is only 3-7 days long which does not cause starvation. Also some fasts ie. the fresh juice fast, the master cleanser include sugars (for energy) and vitamins in the fast which helps remove some of the symptoms of starvation including lightheadedness and the like..

    I think you should try it for yourself and see how you feel. You really know more about what's good for you thank you probably think. Just listen.
    The answer to that varies according to the one doing the research. I think you are your own best medical researcher and if you really want to know, you should try it for yourself.

    I like to just fast for a day.

    I think I'm gonna start fasting 1 day a week once I get out of school - just don't watn to do it during Finals. :p I've done enough by giving up coffee again. :p lol

    well i have no idea how i should fast or for how long plus im younger and out of shape and over weight,ive been looking for stuff online but i keep finding alot of bullshit loss weight in 30days crap,if anyone could give me some good websites,books or info that would be nice

    I'll say it again: Tamee RAWKS!

    deadonceagain: yah, fasting gets a bad rap because it's now associated with extreme-wonderdiet-weightloss programs. Pfft. It's not spozed to be about weight loss. [​IMG] For you, may I suggest trying a juice fast? It's very easy, & you'll get quick results (by the end of the day, you'll feel more energetic & "clean"). Safe, too. Some juice fasts go for months w/ no adverse effects. Here's a pretty no-nonsense article I found:

    i read the artice,this the info i needed im think of talking to my doctor about because im been having a hard time with anxeity not to bad tho i think this might help with mental clearity also i noticed that it says it will clear up mucus and stop from producing so much mucus which is a problem im been getting post nasel drip which makes me cough up nasty stuff i actuyl had to stop smoking weed becasue of this which sucks i think this might just be what i needed more info about jucie fasts would be very helpful,

    Natural healing, which includes fasting, isn't profitable enough for doctors to sell.

    Trial and error, buddy. Just start small and find out what works best for you. You don't need other people to tell you. There's no reason to doubt yourself.
