No one is defending being fat. I challenge Paulwenz to quote any of us that actually said that. All us overweight people want is to be able to choose how we exercise and not be judged or ridiculed in public. If you personally know someone who is overweight and wants to change that, feel free to give them some constructive advice. But if you don't, you shut your mouth. I'm sure you don't want to be stopped on the street by some condescending person, fat or thin.

I'm working out at home so that one day I'll be thin enough to go to a gym or any public place and not feel like people like paulwenz or Pressed Rat are judging me. And what paul said about society being afraid to offend overweight people...SINCE WHEN? Fat people are CONSTANTLY being shamed. Just because it doesn't stop some of them from going to McDonald's it doesn't mean it doesn't hurt them and it doesn't mean they think it's okay (most of them just don't know what to do or feel helpless to change it). You don't cease to be human just because some judgmental people decide you don't deserve to have kindness or respect or privacy because of what you look like or what your health problems are.

I'm again NOT SAYING THAT BEING FAT IS OKAY. I'm saying that if you're not THEIR doctor, then shut up. Your insults are not going to be the reason they get healthy.

Thanks, Odon. Because I sure as hell didn't want to bother with trying to explain anything I meant to that dude again...
Especially because after he said he once "fecked" a big girl to "see what it was like' or whatever along those lines he said, I can't help but think he's either just trolling or a pompous asshole or both.

But, I will say just one thing more to him...
although I'm sure I'll get an answer that's more of the same.
Why are you quoting me and what does any of this have to do with me saying I applaud people who are over weight and striving to do something about it FOR HEALTH REASONS? Let's just pick on our thinking caps here and see the irony..?

As for what you are saying... if you aren't a troll, which I'm sure you are... but if not, it's not WHAT you are saying, it's how you are saying it. You sure as hell aint comin off as professional or like someone in the medical field but like a school yard bully in jr high.

Yeah I was puzzled by that too. I just can't see someone who works in (or tries to sound like they do) the medical field talking about "fecking" a big woman just to see what it's like. I'm sure there are plenty of pigheaded doctors and nutritionists out there but that's just insensitive. Big women have feelings too and I don't think they much like being treated like a circus act to be checked off a list of things to do.

I'm more than just a little overweight and out of shape.

Sometimes I just get the running bug.

It feels so good, even if it feels like I might die.

Sometimes a person just needs to run out the door and keep running, even if they are not "fit" so to speak.

It is all about critical thinking really?
Your unhappy about how facts are presented to you and you turn the argument around so that it becomes personal and the facts are hidden in your defensive response.

All you guys have done is shoot the messenger and your welcome to do so but it doesn't alter the cold stark facts of what is happening to modern society.
The problem is crippling modern societies and is costing governments billions of dollars of money that could be better spent on education or old age care.
The sooner people realise it is an essential problem to deal with and where we are going if we don't the better.

    Unpleasant facts?
Obese people do many things differently to people with normal BMI's, sadly some things they will never experience , other things they will experience are difficulty doing basic tasks that some of us take fore-granted.

Today i see people who are only 40 years old and they see themselves as being old and past-it because of their BMI.

    ^You're just not getting it.

No one is saying that being fat is okay. For the MILLIONTH time. This thread is about PEOPLE. GETTING. HEALTHY. I said it slow for you.

You want to talk about the medical health care crisis? Make a new thread. Because you're going off on a tangent and you're not contributing anything but annoyance to this thread.

so people clearly over-weight might not be the best runners. but you know if they get a chance to tackle you, you are in some serious trouble. so be careful what you say to the big people who cant run well.

This is pretty much a clone of the other thread "thin girls need not apply". All that's left is arguing with one or two trolls and everyone else agreeing with each other.
