I don't feel personally judged, I'm just sayin' the world could use a little more love, ya know? Especially when it comes to people trying to be healthy.

I agree, but constructive criticism never hurt, either.

Yeah, I suppose. Now if anyone were to judge me, I could just run them down and bust their teef in.

    Yay for getting fit! :D

I'm well over 200 pounds and can run just fine. I don't do it very often because I have bad knees, so I use an elliptical bike to limit the stress. But I have no problem (besides my knees) jogging a couple miles.

I know a guy that weighs 250+ that could probably outrun you.

My seemingly rude comment wasn't just because of this thread, but the judgmental pissy attitude you seem to have developed since losing all that weight.

i don't take personal offense to what you said.
another simple observation is that was an assholish thing to observe and then make a thread about.

I didn't read the thread, but I watched Ted a few days ago and the thread reminded me of this scene:

It's just a simple observation I've made from reading your posts all these years.

I don't mean to sound like a dick, or like I'm attacking you. I know it may sound that way but that's not the case.....you're one of my favorite posters here. Just thought I'd bring my observation to light since you were displaying it here now.

Well, obviously I was referring to people who are obese. Not people who are big and muscular. I can't believe I even need to say that.

A friend of mine, who died a few years ago, was somewhere between 200 and 250 pounds(fat, not muscle), but he could outrun me in a sprint, and I can run a 1/4 mile in ~50 seconds.

I saw program on a medical TV channel about a health camp for very overweight teens. Some of them were in the +400 lb range. One guy about 16 was over 400 lbs when he started the camp. He learned to adjust his diet and was jogging along some trails in the woods. He was probably around 350 to 400 lb at the time that they showed a clip of him jogging. He was chugging along slowly but doing ok. It might appear awkward to some, but he was doing it and it didn't damage his health.

There are issues with doing too much too fast. It's been said that singer Karen Carpenter had too much weight added to her by a clinic when she was anorexic. Her brother Richard felt that the extra 20 lbs that was quickly added to her over-stressed her heart and was at least partly responsible for her heart failure and death shortly after the weight gain.

Cass Elliot of the Mamas and Papas is another example. She was fasting in the months leading up to her death and was said to have lost about 80 lbs fairly quickly. Some attribute her heart failure and death partly to the rapid weight loss which may have weakened her heart. She was on the Mike Douglas show a couple months before her death and mentioned the she had been fainting because she fasted too much, which caused low blood glucose.

Pressed_Rat, it's probably a little like saying: Why do people who like music think they can make music? Why don't they just leave it to people that know what they are doing.

A lot of football players still have a high body fat percentage, and can still run like hell.

On another note, I have a serious ghetto booty, and I'm sure people judge me when I run, but I give zero fucks. :D
