Nah, just rocking the politically elite. I say what I have to say - or feel like saying. If someone taunts me and says something then, let them have it... Being with the same girl for 8 or 9 years has really cut parts of the outside World that can be bitchy.
there are more poor, if as a group the working poor were willing to look at reality and see that none of the rich politicians has their best interests at heart maybe it'd be better for them, but they allow themselves to be divided over petty trivialities like gun control and whether a candidate is pro-life or pro choice, in the long run it probably doesn't matter because we have the supreme court, sure some things may be made easier or more difficult, but in the long run it doesn't matter people choose to be under represented as to under protected, hey your right, police suck in certain areas, they want to go home so they try to spend their beat in the percieved safer areas of their patrol creating a snowball affect for the less safe areas, not to mention the fact that those rich politicians want more police who should be in those poor neighborhoods in rich ones idling so that they can get more campaign contributions every human problem feeds into all the others but think of it this way as an american you have a 1 in 20 chance of having over a million dollars when your born simply by merit of 5% of the population having more than 80% of the money held by individuals......
i have a pretty dim view of insulting or complaining about people based on their weight, speech, ethnicity or clique. i sorta lose interest quickly.
ok speaking of fast food I have a new problem. I've never been a fan of fast food in my life except for the past couple of months I am addicted to mc donalds egg mcmuffins without the ham. I limit myself to one a week, not because of the fat but because of the processing chemicals, salt ect. I have joined our fast food nation. I would eat breakfast at mc donalds everyday if I could and I would become very fat if I did that and I think how yummy it is would be worth it but I am afraid of chemicals and preservatives so I still only have it once a week but damn it's yummy. I even got hashbrowns today too at the airport.
I heard about that study. I'm kinda chubby but the top of my ass where they give you the shots is kinda boney so I've never had that problem. Baby got back...never thought I'd hear olberman play that song heh
I know it was aimed at me... perhaps I'll edit my profile if you ask nicely! I didn't intend to cut on you because of your age- my apologies if I came across that way. What you say and how you say it reminds me very strongly of a very good friend of mine-- the dude is pushing 50 and is probably one of the most intelligent people I've met. He is very difficult to argue with- will not give any respect to people who disagree with him- doesn't readily admit when proven wrong- which isn't all that often. Generally I steer clear of arguments as my buttons tend to get puished. He argues from the viewpoint of he is right and anyone not williing to concede that at the outset is useless shit and their word is not worth listening to. Apart from that this is a good hearted person- but he shares alot of your views of poverty. It struck me that the discussion we had very closely resembled a few of the arguments I and a couple other friends have with him. Of course this individual will take the devil's advocate position and argue it with the same force were he to actually believe what he's saying- just to get a rise out of someone. Having made the mistake of engaging his combative side a couple times I've resolved never to allow myself to be baited and as a result the friendship has survived.
you know there could be a reason that smart people are so adamant about this particular position...... I have a lot of positions I'm ready, willing and able to flex on, peoples intrinsic evil and it's affects throughout society is not one of those.....
I take that into account... I'm just not ready to lump a whole segment of society as lowlifes. I've known and worked with a couple people fighting to get out of poverty & get their life on track. They knew how to take advantage of the system but had too much self-respect to do so. There's intrinsic evil at all economic strata.. it's just easier for the well off to keep up appearances and hide skilled truth benders to lawyer their way out of many a legal bind. The sins of the welfare exploiters are out there for you and me to digest and formulate opinions- unfortunately there are way too many of the bad apples not to start making blanket judgements- I find myself fighting the urge from time to time.
can we please just let this die? Bashing people based on their weight is ridiculous and hurtful to those of us who ARE overweight (particularly when it's due to medication, not eating unhealthily or sitting all day long).
