Yeah well, that probably does not apply to the vast majority of fat people.

I hate any word people use about others that is negatively charged.

I have always been unhealthily skinny - except for the times in my life when I took control and did exercise & ate right. Think anyone EVER felt ANY need to restrain themselves from telling me how skinny I was?

It pisses me off that it is considered so fucking impolite and politically incorrect to tell a fat person they are fat, but to tell someone who is skinny they are skinny is totally normal and acceptable. Especially since it's usually fat people who do so. Goddamn hypocrites.

If I were inclined to be fat, though, I would make damn sure I kept it in check for the simple reason that I don't want something so mundane as walking up a flight of stairs to be a huge effort. And for most fat people, it really is a very simple thing to get a handle on it. I worked as a personal trainer for a while and I'll tell ya, it didn't take many weeks of my clients training with me and eating what I told them to for them to see results. Most people just couldn't be fucked with it and would rather just keep their overindulgent, sedentary lifestyle.

I've noticed a trend in discussions like these (both here and in other forums), where people say it's unfair that a fat person should get a door removed for free, but also complain about having to go thru a door after a fat person because it takes too much time. The only real solution they would accept is fat people just not existing. Well, fat people do exist, and they need to get to the same places you're going. So either deal with free door-removals being unfair, or deal with sometimes having to wait.

Glen, I'm assuming White Dove was referring to the recent Supreme Court Ruling requiring McDonald's and other fast food franchises to remove all doors in compliance with the statute that forbids public establishments from discriminating against individuals who's size makes it difficult for them to get to the french fries as quickly where there are doors present.

Like most folk when they get old; they'll switch over to hating young people.

The longer I've lived, the more I find myself liking the nice, friendly-for-the- most part young people.

It is the older ones IRL that make my butt hole tighten, as I imagine my angry fist shaking.

The "older ones" (such as those in my very own generation) here on HF are some of the very best ppl I've had the opportunity to "get to know"...a quite different experience than I've experienced IRL.

There is a defining moment though when you find yourself yelling at some kids "Get off my lawn!" and afterwords you think to yourself "Gods, I'm OLD"...

Like everything in life it's about respect . Young or old , one has to give it to get it . Every person is different . Every one unique with their gifts and problems . Some are good people and some are assholes . But MOST every human being deserves respect , compassion and tolerance . Unless they have proven through crimes , they are unfit for society . we should be grateful , we don't have to walk in others shoes . If a person slows your entering an establishment so what deal with it , It's life . That person impeding our progress might be an elderly person , a handicapped person , as well as an obese person . It's the golden rule folks , you treat others like you want to be treated . It's something we are losing in an angry ,self absorbed and mannerless society . Passing judgement on a heavy person , is no different than passing judgement on a person for any other outside appearance . I have known two "obese" people that stand out in memory , as two of the most beautiful, loving ,understanding souls I have ever known . And if I had passed judgement because of appearances , it would have been my loss . By 2030 it's now estimated that over 40% of Americans will be obese . Chances are someone we love or family member will be among those numbers . And would you want them treated with disrespect and disgust ?

i don't have a lawn, or even anything other then what is inside the room and a bath i rent to live in. i have neighbors though, old enough to know better, who refuse to have consideration for anybody.

all my life i've wanted to be old and now i am.

fat happens. mostly to people who are more interested in interesting things, then in boring things that involve physical exercise.
