Still white pine can dominate areas of the Northern Hardwood forest where there is a great deal of moisture i.e. Maine (the pine tree state) Hotwater
I know... been there. Just saying conifers are not a hardwood so I would consider that mixed forest. (but I don't get to name these things) Like what used to be native to this area.
Actually there are nothing but conifers at the top of Clings Mans Dome in Tennessee, the tallest mountain in the Appalachians. There is also a communications tower at the top.
I like woods, lakes and streams. I lived in Ithaca NY for over 20 years and they have a lot of gorges. Those are quite stunning too.
mountains with trees and trains, also natural forests and tails and little very odd houses and no pavement and no cars, but especially with narrow gauge railways in them. also most especially in the spring, and with four legged people who live there going about their lives as if the artist or photographer weren't there watching them. or with anthro people (furies) or people from other worlds (e.t. aliens). other kinds of technology in them is good too, as long as it isn't on nor need pavement, nor painted red.
