Favorite moment of the debate?

Yeah, I was pretty put off by that, too...

 

I liked the post -debate coverage on the "Daily Show."

I liked how Kerry finally outlined his stance about the war and got down to talking business.

 

The idea that "terrorists" are a 'people' that can be hunted down and killed is just ridiculous.

The only way to remove terror, or minimize it at best, is to set up environments that don't breed terror.

In iraq we are and have been setting up an environment that does nothing but breed terror.

I swear -- this whole 'war on terror' is just here to replace the cold war. The faceless enemy.

This war on terror thing is a dream come true for the Republican party which lost much of its cause after the end of the cold war. Moreover, it's also a dream come true for religious conservatives, as it gives them an opportunity to label a competing religion as evil.

They invoke Reagan's name all the time. It makes me sick. They aren't being secretetive about it at all. . . .

I don't know, maybe none, but you can certainly reduce the amount spent on them. I support welfare reform.
Taxes on the rich can be raised though, I don't give a goddamn about the rich.

Cut military spending. We have a military presence in an astounding number of countries. I would pull out of the Iraq war and not start new ones.

How do you get that out of what I wrote? That is just unreasonable. I most certainly think serious criminals need to be locked up, but not for drugs or petty crimes. The war on drugs is extremely costly. If the source of crime was treated then we wouldn't need to lock so many people up. Why is such a large percentage of Americans in jail?

He feels he has to say crap like that in order to appear tough on terror which people seem to think he is not. It's all politics. It rubs me the wrong way too, but I'm assuming he is just saying that for a tougher image. The Republicans are using fear mongering as a tactic to increase support for Bush. I know people who honestly think we'll be attacked by terrorists if Kerry is elected. My boyfriend's mom is one. Their tactics are working, Kerry's advisors see this and they have to show Kerry as being tough on terror. My landlord believes that Kerry faked his war injuries. This propaganda is working, Americans are retarded.

Don't blame Kerry, blame stupid scaredy-cat Americans.
