Yes. John Candy suggested that Rick Moranis played this part after he was offered it. It was originally for Chevy Chase.

The famous tag-line in the movie was originally “I’ll come back” instead the director chose the line “I’ll be Back” and movie history was made.

 

“I’ll come back” would have been funnier for the moment but “I’ll be back” fits in with everything.

 

I remember when this movie was released in theaters, and when the turtles jumped out of the shadows with the title in a freeze frame, all the kids in the theater went nuts. Myself included

 

The opening monologue to Julia is one of the most dramatic openings to any cinema film and so typical of the art of Fred Zinnemann.

Old paint on a canvas, as it ages, sometimes becomes transparent. When that happens it is possible, in some pictures, to see the original lines: a tree will show through a woman's dress, a child makes way for a dog, a large boat is no longer on an open sea. That is called pentimento because the painter "repented," changed his mind.

 

In this case it is the closing scene and end credits.
Running the film directly from 70mm on the giant screen at the Empire theater in front of 1,700 people is a moment that I will never forget.
