ergh.. truth has been spoken there. but I've dated enough manic pixie girls for a lifetime, and pursued way too many. Actually, truth is, I'm just.. tired of chasing in general. It's no fun anymore.
but, being fair, Sylvia Plath was also being beaten constantly by Ted Hughes,, she miscarried her second child, and was deeply depressed.
you might be ok with it.. I'm really not. I'm still at the stage of 'young and stupid' where I believe in love as an ideal, and think that everyone can find someone, yada yada.. you know.. all the bs that comes with being a romantic at heart. I don't want to give up, because if I do.. if I'm 'done with it', then I'm giving up one of the only things that's kept me getting up in the morning. that today 'could' be the day I find that epic person who winds up being the best combination of my lover and my best friend, and that I won't be out adventuring alone anymore. I don't think I'll ever be able to give that idea up.
I know. I like her actually. I'm sure she was a lot of fun too. Ted Hughes' other wife also killed herself. I don't really like his poetry.
she was at least bright enough to hold a conversation with.. not some airhead who twirled fingers through her hair as she spent a half hour saying nothing. she wouldn't have been an easy woman to get on with, but that's not a bad thing either.
“There are 106 miles to Chicago, we have a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it’s dark, and we’re wearing sunglasses.”
Interesting they spoke with the ecclesiastical pronunciation in the film. I'm glad they did... Sounds better.
Caleb: Why did you give her sexuality? An AI doesn't need a gender. She could have been a grey box. Nathan: Actually I don't think that's true. Can you give an example of consciousness at any level, human or animal, that exists without a sexual dimension? Caleb: They have sexuality as an evolutionary reproductive need. Nathan: What imperative does a grey box have to interact with another grey box? Can consciousness exist without interaction? -Ex Machina
