there was a neo-pagan, magic user filk on a caset i once had, with the chorus:

"only the good, get caught in the cross fire,
only the innocent, die young"

i forget who wrote or sang it, and i no longer have the cassette.

there were several other goodies on there too.
don't bother trying to find some popular group anyone's ever heard of, who might have done anything like it. you won't, because it was done by filkers, who had no intention of ever becoming popular commercial entertainers.

i know i bought the tape at a science fiction convention, sometime in the early to mid 80s. that's all i remember for sure about the origin of it.
