they were lucky to come back alive. it isnt an easy thing to do. therefore it isnt worth the risk of a good man/pilot/astronaut to try to get back to a giant rock. there are plenty of rocks here on earth if that is what we needed.
Well this isn't to say that other countries don't have the exact same things, but I enjoy having my own things. A car, an apartment, a guitar, etc. I get to go back to school if I want to, even though I already have a degree. (they're actually cracking down on this. I found recently that I couldn't retake courses at a local community college which I have already passed. Strange... I guess it's the little things that bug you.)
really? what reason was given? was this just the community college's rule, or some larger educational regulation? seems like the college would gladly let you pay to take the same class over and over. the only thing i can think of is to prevent GPA inflation.

I didn't ask for a reason, and subsequently selected a similar course. (the course in question was American Government, and so I chose to take Intro to Political Science instead) I think the reasoning must relate to allowing available seating for those who will need the course for their degree.
Years of failures and reaearch and developement and billions of dollars spent that lead to succesfully sending men to the moon and back does not equate to "luck"
Yes we went to the moon. Yes we absolutely had the photographic technology to take those photographs at the time no problem. Why didn't we go back? One word: extraterrestrials. I am not going into it further than that.
The Great Plains. It's so peaceful on the prairie. And the USA is just a beautiful country in general. We've got pretty much everything. Tropical paradise, prairie, mountains, desert...
My point is that the US Empire has faded. I believe its' trade deficit is in the trillions. The American Dream is nothing more than that.
