Fears of Internet predators unfounded, study finds

So children are not allowed a say in politics. Who is anymore? Children aren't allowed a lot of legal rights...who is anymore? The super rich who run America have all the freedom of speech now.(in America) But children do need to be allowed to express themselves in any way we can safely allow them to.
Saying they have no free speech and shouldn't have really kind of dehumanizes them into just products to be owned and done with as parents please...a kind of mindset that has allowed children to be victimized for centuries.

But getting back to the original topic, I'm totally with Skip on this. Just like children being considered property has allowed children to be victimized, so has the idea that they should be somehow protected from the realities of the world while keeping them ignorant about the realities of the world has not worked well at all in keeping them safe. No parent can be with their kids all the time and, that being the case, there is no substitute for teaching them well about what is really out there and what can happen to them and how they can protect themselves!
