i DID see where the mexican military is providing food and water, as well as a cook tent to feed several thousand people.
you know we're big trouble when we've got the mexicans bringing us water! holy shit. FEMA didn't respond because once again president Bush appointed one of his friends (who judged show horses or some shit like that before) to an important government post instead of someone that actually has experience in dealing with natural disasters. What did you think was gonna be able to deal with this situation accordingly? and we have a soccer mom from texas (Karen Hughes) trying to improve American/middle eastern relations. Do you think a woman from texas that doesnt speak a word of Arabic is going to make the Middle Easterners like us anymore. no way!
Slutter, I have to give you credit. For a brainwashed little worm who knows nothing about the real world we live in, you sure are good at sentence structuring and grammar! Too bad that's where your good qualities begin and end. And now...if you would explain to me once and for all WHY I shouldn't consider you the walking stereotype that I know you to be?? I bet you still won't be able to and will again change the subject slightly to avoid what you know you can't prove wrong...the stereotype that is yourself. And now to your latest videogame session.
I said I saw it on TV, you fucking scumbag. There's nothing to back up. And to whom do I need to back it up? YOU??
t.v., more like alex jone's web site ,while your posting your bollock's ,remember source is everything,i could could post "alien's caused the levee to break" an no doubt i could find a website to back it up . how come the article on alex jone's about the levee being blown by dynamite hasnt made it "here" yet?
you can hear Alex Jones' free on http://www.gcnlive.com/winmedia.htm apparently there are dutch as well as mexican troops there are other shows on that station that are interesting to but hes very good
Like I was going to pay to hear Alex Jones. Where's the part about Mexican troops patrolling the streets?
i wonder how many people are going to look at water all funny before they drink it? though, in karen hughes' defense, i don't think ANYONE could make the middle easterner like the usa any better.
dude was replaced, we have a former fire fighter as our fema commisionor now, FEMA dropped the ball funny enough, 9 years ago when reno flooded FEMA had some of the same fuck ups, every time I've heard about FEMA responding it was a day late and a dollar short, I only think it got noticed this time because there was a real idiot in there and they had a real time to shine and they put up their usual performance.....
Please correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this the same 'former fire fighter" who after 9/11 advised us all to duct tape our selves inside our houses?
yes it was, at least he has real experience though instead of lying about every single thing on his resume.......
I thought this thread was about the 'overall response' [even though it is hardly started].. Has anybody got any thoughts about the 'overall' response to this ?. Rather than the usual 'not responding quick enough at the start' however true/untrue that might be.. at this point what do people think about the 'overall response'.. ?.
i'm really happy that the body count is not anywhere NEAR what they were expecting. i was so sad at the idea of all those people. what they've got is more than enough, anyway. i'm also really happy with the way the normal people are rallying around the victims, though i highly doubt this civic virtue will last.
Although it is starting to look as though some positive steps seem to be being taken at this point the 'overall response' to date has been not only too slow, but also in normal government fashion a total SNAFU! I say this taking into consideration the fact that it is only two days out of nine that things seem to be taking a turn for the better and therefore do not constitute the majority of 'overall'. If you will take a second look at the list that ChangingTimes began this thread with it appears that most of the problems can be attributed to FEMA's defending their territory from any and all comers in true governmental style. It seems to me that the far better role for FEMA in the first days would have been to spearhead the relief efforts leading the way, co-ordinating, and facilitating the efforts and materials of all available resources. At this point I think the 'overall response' can best be described in the words of the Chineese grandmother when asked on her citizenship test what she thought of the overall effect of the American Civil War 'It is too soon to tell'.
Check out the progress on what Food Not Bombs has been doing to help with the relief effort. www.foodnotbombs.net
hm. must be nice to be able to get the national gaurd to get you past blockades then have them feel duty bound to protect you from snipers and such when they're supposed to be doing the whole search and rescue thing. i wonder who died that needed rescuing while this guy was packing his suitcase and filling a box with his valuables. http://www.abcnews.go.com/US/HurricaneKatrina/story?id=1123495&page=1
