Daniel drove a Camry when he was delivering pizzas... I want to say it was a later 80's model. Anyway, he said it was fucking amazing for pizza delivery, excellent gas mileage, fast, reliable. I know Death is set on the Dynasty, but for anyone else looking for a good pizza delivery car, I have a recommendation for Camrys. lol

I have a mid-nineties Camry which I paid $2800 for three years ago and I've only had one problem a year with it. This year I had to shell out for a pair of new tires. It still runs great with over 180,000 miles on it!

So y'all can see I'm just LIVIN' THE HIGHLIFE off all those donations you've been sending in (they never even cover the server costs, currently running over $400 a month).

I'm so rich, I own one old beatup car (which I rarely get to drive since I lend it out to others in need, as I hardly go anywhere), and not much else. I've never owned any property (glad about that now, hehe).

But I just love when ppl try to give me shit for be such a big capitalist...

To those idiots I say: BITE ME ASSHOLES!

Oh and in the past I've owned no fewer than four VW Camper Vans, so don't bother judging me by the Camry, it was the best buy I could find at the time.

You keep saying you can afford it, and that the price of gas isn't an issue.....

But the thread is about nobody wanting to give you a loan for the car in the first place!

So.... how about you spend a few years looking for the car you really want, not one that we can already verify won't last, etc, and then spend some time working THAT into the luxury car you want and will keep wanting, instead of a throwaway luxury car for the time being?

Or you could take less money, and work your current car into what you want....

I own two mid nineties Corollas.

If one ever does break down I got spare parts.

    Will probably never break down.

My family's 97 is going good. Never had major work, required push starting for a time because of the starter, got that fixed, had an A/C repair under warrenty... Other than that, valvoline keeps it happy, and getting 40-50mpg, depending who's driving and where. Very quiet car, considering the age, easy to drive, goes where you tell it, easy clutch.... My only gripe is that it has no tach, and as such, it feels like I put a lot more stress on the clutch than I othewise would.

In the next few years, if I see a nice one for cheap, I'll probably pick it up. I'd like to have one mothballed, with the shitty direction cars have gone.

Feeling thrifty makes you forget that you don't look like you're going to pick up your dues from your working girls :p

I think Japanese cars from the 90s were the best ever made. They were relatively cheap, get great gas mileage, last forever (300,000 miles is not unusual if it's taken care of), high resale value, very comfortable, practically never need repairs.

Today's cars have far more electronics, parts cost more, they cost more to insure, and may be less reliable over time than older cars.

Newer cars do have more safety features and other crap like a zillion cup holders, but are they really getting better?

When we no longer need to drive cars, just tell them where to go, is when we will notice a big improvement. In my lifetime, please.

up here the bodies are what kills them...cheap china steel is no match for the road salt and liquid brine they use for ice management

    Hell yeah.

I knew someone who was considering selling me his honda station wagon when he had an option to buy a "cooler" car.... he wanted 400 bucks. It had 475k miles at the time, never been rebuilt. And this guy's an idiot and takes horrible care of it (not to mention a bitter enemy of mine now) and the clutch was failing.... I decided it wasen't a great idea, and he ended up not upgrading anyway. He got the clutch tightened, not replaced, and now I expect it's over a half million miles. I saw him driving it the other day.

I'd like to find one, even non working, to rebuild (or destroy trying) and restore to new shape, so that I can then do the same with my current car, while driving that one..... and so fourth and so on. It was a great time for cars, still simple but making use of new computer tech, which was powerful and cheap enough and available enough to do what needed to be done. But before the age of mountains plastic shit that does nothing but break. (and break your whole car when it breaks)

This is my summertime ride...as you can see it's an all purpose vechile which I've owned for about 10 years. Mileage ain't real bad and maintenence is pretty easy. Its big enough to be both a living room on wheels as well as a dining room and some closet space.

1967 Impala. You could haul off a whole family of bodies in that trunk...or rent it for student housing around here.
