well, if I'm understanding right, that means the top of your struts where riding on the hood? To it's credit, that's a HELL of a hood latch, and some heavy duty hood hinges.... Your alignment must have looked funny though :p

But yeah..... that's pretty much your wheels falling all BUT off.... if your hood gave way you would have been sitting strait on your tires, right?

yep..it didnt look bad except for the hood buckled 2 inches and the front end sitting a little low

the last crazy thing that happened was at the same tracks a few years ago my rear wheel bearing slid out of the housing on my jimmy and so the brake drum was holding all the vehicle weight

I had to stop at least 5 times on the way home to throw snow on the glowing red drum and called ahead to have someone meet me outside with a bucket of water in the driveway because i seriously expected to see flames :D

oh and i just remembered the time my rear axle decided to shear off flush on my f150 4x4 while driving 80 down the highway loaded with 120 gallons of stolen fuel lol

32 inch tires on that one...quite an experience when one of those passes under your rear bumper and then your rear quarter drags across the road throwing sparks lol

I think cars don't like you, I've lived in cold places, and never even heard tell of these things happening :p

It's amazing that you've made it home in those situations, though....

Makes me worry a bit more about my intermittently squeaking wheel bearing, i 'spose.

wheel bearings rarely squeak...its probably just a backing plate touching the rotor when it heats up

I don't understand , why ask for a car loan, when you can just ask for a personal loan, just go to your bank and when they ask you "so, what's is for?", just say for personal use.

I bought a Lada once...worst car I ever owned...it was one of those Nive 4x4 models..It would have been good though if I would have taken the time to put a toyota engine in it instead of the crap it came with

Those commie-mobiles look pretty cool, I always thought. Read some amusing stories about the motors going to hell and back, and then dieing for NO reason, never to start again, when under no strain, on the home stretch.

I forgot canada is sane about letting people buy the cars they want.... In the US we can't have pot OR skylines.

I just almost had a better self destructing vehicle story than BBAD. I, just by chance, noticed a (another, that is) fuel leak on the line going into my filter.... spraying on my manifold :2thumbsup: and probably spraying more on it than was making it INTO the manifold, at that.

Ladas were so bad that Canada stopped them from importing

brand new from the factory and they wouldnt pass safety requirements lol

That is one awful looking heap of metal, I can tell you that. I wouldn't give you a $5 dollar loan towards it. Ugly.

Get the Lada Niva :2thumbsup: Great car!
