I've heard of that before, actually. I think it's some of the additives or chemicals in fast food that people get addicted to. Have you done any reading online?

Hyper-palatable foods high in fat and salt are very addicting because they trigger the reward center of the brain much the way drugs do. I was addicted to fast food for a number of years back in the early to mid 2000s and was eating it nearly every single day.

The thing about fast food is.. It's fast, and you don't have to do anything. ^.^

True, there is the convenience aspect. But it would not be nearly as popular as it is if it didn't taste good. And it does taste good.

Though, I've been sick enough from a few places that the thought turns my tastebuds the opposite way. :D there's a chicken place I used to go to and it wasn't bad, just, I dunno, I got really full one day from like a chicken chilli tender sub, I just couldn't think of going back. Thing about McDonald's etc. is I could eat like two burgers and my nuggets and half hour later I'm in the kitchen looking for something else to eat.

Bootcamp. It was a good class tonight, I actually felt like I was going to vomit at the end. I haven't felt sick after a workout in a while.

This popped up in my facebook news feed today, right when I needed it most. I thought I'd share the inspiration here, just in case anyone else is feeling this way today.

My hockey season ended about a month ago, and I went from training about 20 hours a week to playing for an hour a week and working the 12-ounce curls on my couch. In three weeks I managed to put on about 6 kilos.

Now that I won't be playing for the next couple years, I've settled into a nice routine of alternating between running and the gym six days a week

But its still less fun than hockey.

Why not? Just wondering! Because of current location perhaps?

    No hockey over there?

Yeah, not many ice rinks in Africa. I'm thinking I will buy a boat and learn to sail for something to do on weekends.

Sounds like a great plan! Never understimate the fun of a sunny day on the water (and Africa is quite sunny :-D) :)

From what I understand hockey is quite popular in Africa.

You’ve never heard of the ……

    The Rift Valley Fevers
    The Serengeti Cheetahs
    The Kilimanjaro Zebras
    The Saharan Camels
    The Gabon Gorillas
    The Congo Pygmies
    The Nairobi Leopards
And the all-girls hockey team The Tsetse Fly’s
