if the world we're refuring to is human society of planet earth, the one simple truth is that all of us together, statistically, by the priorities we actually live by and how we act on them, create the incentives that create the conditions that each of us individually experience.

the other simple truth, is that truth is what is always there, when no one is saying anything. NOT what anyone, even and including myself, or anyone else, thinks they know about it.

That's a good way of looking at the 'fans' or followers of religious personalities. However, there are those that will seek out knowledge of things spiritual with good intentions and be deceived by religious leaders.

i wish the fiath of Baha'u'llah as well or better then i do any other organized monotheistic belief. but i also believe this world needs solar powered narrow gauge railways, and a culture that romanticizes and rewards creativity and consideration, INSTEAD of aggressiveness and the tyranny of its dominance, MORE then what anybody does or does not believe in.

as for mind altering substances, don't be silly; they have no more to do with whatever happens to be out there, then anything else anyone pretends to know about it. which is pretty much zip anyway.

devil, demon, satan, boogie man, is something people made up as an excuse to not care what they screw up for each other. god, on the other paw, is a nice little generic name for something big, friendly and invisible, that gives great hugs, does not micro manage, and is not obliged to resemble anything anyone pretends to know about it.

personally i cannot imagine for the life of me, why a real god would want to be worshiped, but i can think of plenty of less then wonderful reasons one human would want another to believe that it did.

No, but they have a lot to do with what happens in here. Which is the only way we can know the world anyway.
