I've never really liked the fancy jewelry. I used to always get it from my family. They stopped giving me those kind of things after they notice I didnt really care for them. I would wear them for some time and then forget about it or I would lose them. I'm really bad with taking care of material stuff that I'm wearing. I do have some especial things, that mean a lot to me. Like a ring that used to belong to my grandmother, this flower pendant my brother gave me and other random things. Right now I have a rainbow bracelet that my friend Vanessa gave me, I havent taken it off ever since. It's all faded right now, but I love it like that. But like Renee I think it's way more romantic when a guy does something for you, instead of just giving you something, because it's so unique and personal. John always writes me poems and I love them, he one time faxed me a drawing to work, that was so sweet. I keep all that stuff because it means so much to me. But I think he has been the only guy who ever did those kind of things, people usually just buy me stuff and it's usually stuff I dont even like. I'm super simple, but way picky too.
i finally decide to check out the food thread....and its about jewelry? haha....maybe i should read the rest of it, i got confused at first
well you can keep dishing money out for diamonds and flowers for money hungry whores that prefer how much you spent on what you got them than the meaning behind it... i'll keep on keepin on with women who have more in life to worry about than diamonds and gold... by your girl another diamond.. maybe she'll let ya try to stick it in her ass again
I made this meal for dinner tonight. Since I'm on a healthy eating kick I've been trying to make recipes that are low in calories and stuff. So tonight I made a sort of shrimp scampi only with scallops in addition to shrimp and with a twist. Shrimp scampi 2 TB butter 1 TB olive oil 1 red bell pepper, diced 4 large garlic cloves, minced 1 package white button mushrooms, sliced thinly 2 pounds raw shrimp, peeled and deviened. 1 pound sea scallops 1/2 cup dry white wine 1 TB fresh italian parsley, chopped juice of 1 freshly squeezed lemon salt and pepper Cook red pepper and garlic until softened in oil and butter. Add mushrooms, and cook until softened, about 7-10 minutes? And turn off heat. Add parsley, wine, lemon juice, and salt and pepper. Stir until combined. Spread shrimp and scallops in a 13x9 casserole dish or larger. And then top with wine sauce, and broil for 10-15 minutes until shrimp is no longer pink and scallops are no longer transluscent. And while that's cooking boil water and cook fresh linguini or angel hair, and then toss everything together and serve with bread. This was a huge hit tonight. I've been having problems cooking for my dad lately cause he's extremely picky and old fashioned, and he supposedly has problems from eating onions and stuff like that. But he LOVED it, and so did the rest of my family, and my sister's boyfriend who hates mushrooms. This was a great healthy alternative to restuarant style shrimp scampi, and the addition of scallops was great too. It was healthy and not greasy at all. Sorry for my rambling. I made a sangria for my mom and I tonight with chenin blanc, vodka, lemon slices, lime slices, orange slices, and tonic water. I only had like 3 drinks and I'm almost to the point of the spins lol. I really need to cool it for an hour or so or I'm going to get sick.

Yay, my first post in this thread. I'm having homemade fried rice, and it's delicious! Definitely not the first time I've made it, so I think I'm getting better at this recipe. I used: Chopped carrots Peas Cooked rice Green Onions (shallots) Shrimp Eggs Fried Rice seasoning packet Soy sauce (well, I used a soy sauce subsititute, but this is what you're supposed to use) Cayenne pepper Measurements don't matter. Just eyeball it. Then stir fry. Yumm!
hmmm this must be a cheapo version of fried rice that my mom has always made. i know alot of people prolly dont like spam but i dont think its to bad. in this you could probably change it out for like diced ham or something the fried rice my mom makes is 1 can diced spam 4 servings of minute rice around 8 scrambled eggs or so shredded cheese onions some other random seasonings if i make it LOL just fry up the spam and onions and seasonings in a pan after its all diced. then cook the rice really quick pretty much just boil the water and throw the rice in and cover it and its done. then put the scrambled eggs and cheese into the spam and then put in most of the rice. mix it all together and let the eggs cook i like to cover it because it seems to make the eggs fluffier. anyways its a quick meal and it only costs like less then 10 dollars to make and it will feed like 4 people or so. i have a few other quick meals that we make alot not with spam but still pretty basic compared to some of the meals on this thread. its prolly not the healthiest meal but we have never ate healthy LOL.
MMM sounds good! I don't think I've ever made a fried rice from scratch! Only bought the fried rice from trader joes and stuff, and those are pretty good too. I'll have to try out your recipe. Thanks!
I've never had spam in my life, but I've always been curious about it lol. My mom is a health nut, and she's always tried her best to keep us kids eating healthy and stuff too, but my dad is a huge junk food eater. I guess that's why we've always had to struggle, we have his awful genes! That recipe sounds pretty tasty, but I think I'd have to substitute the spam for something else. Well I'd probably end up substituting a lot of those ingredients cause not a one of them are healthy, but it still sounds interesting! Very cool, and thanks for the contribution!
Okay so here's my chili recipe: 1 medium onion, chopped 1 green bell pepper, chopped 1 red bell pepper, chopped 1 jalapeno, diced 2 chipotle peppers, seeded, and chopped 3 or 4 cloves garlic, minced 1 tb cumin 1 tb chili powder salt and pepper 1 tb sugar 1 15 oz can red kidney beans 1 lb ground beef, turkey, or chicken 2 28 oz cans crushed tomatoes cilantro, chopped (optional) sour cream, and cheddar cheese for garnish Cook meat until cooked, drain, and set aside. Cook onion and peppers and garlic until softened, in a dutch oven. Then stir in meat, beans, spices, tomatoes, sugar, salt and pepper. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for at least an hour. Serve with cheddar and sour cream. If you want to make vegetarian, omit meat, or use vegetarian ground beef substitute such as "morning star."
If you want the full instructions I can PM them to you. Though if you buy the little seasoning packets they will have the recipe on the back. Most of the time I put beef in it (stew meat or steak), but the shrimp was really good.
